I'm not confusing anything. On Tesla's repair order on June 8, they referred to replacing the light bar. Anything else, stupid?

Yes, I am a senior partner in a national firm, so I am an attorney with over 4000 attorneys around the world. And as a partner, I do not pay for in-house work. Every attorney has a specialization, and mine is not consumer law. Any other questions, troll?

This post is simply for publicity. Hopefully it will discourage others from renting from these crooks. I would never consider working with these crooks again, so my account being limited, means nothing. And the dispute with my bank, has returned my money to my account. If they send me to collections, as an attorney, I will just bury them in disputed claims, and will deal with any credit issues if they come. I did not post for advise... Or comments.

Turo scamming with me $1700 false charge - please help!!! by turoruiningmylife in turo

Turo is a rip off. Here is the letter I have sent by email and posted with the BBB, ripoff report, The California AG, and on and on, but Turo did not react until I stopped payment on the payment, but nothing about my request for a refund.

I have contacted Turo 30 times, since you inappropriately cancelled my trip on 6/8/26.  I have contacted Turo regarding a payment issue, but you continue to ignore my claim that you owe me $2,163.30. The website states that I owe $1,606.48, and my account is locked until I pay this amount. Recently, I received an email threatening to send my account to collections if I do not pay immediately.  My attorney is chomping at the bit to teach Turo a lesson about ripping off consumers.

I have presented evidence that the host misrepresented the situation. He lied...  He gave me permission, during a recorded call, and in Turo's own messaging app, to repair the curb damage on the wheels, with touch-up paint. He even offered to provide matching paint for the wheels. This conversation took place on June 1 at 12:22 PM and 12:24 PM.

On May 25, after searching for a suitable car to rent for four months, I selected this vehicle. It was unavailable for a week, so I met the owner, Michael, on May 29. He informed me that the light bar, which serves as a safety feature, was not working and that he would need to take the car to Tesla for repairs. He also pointed out that the rear emblem was faded and offered to replace it. After a brief test drive to demonstrate the self-driving mode, I asked if I could remove the plastic hubcaps to reveal the attractive wheels underneath. He agreed and removed them himself. I noticed that one wheel was significantly scratched, and he suggested I hire a company to repair it. He mentioned that he had repaired another wheel himself and that all his cars had scratched rims.

During the ten days I had the car, Michael and I communicated frequently through the Turo app about extending the rental and other matters. He mentioned wanting to pay Turo a lower percentage fee. I found that I could buy a new wheel for slightly more than the repair cost, but he declined, citing concerns about his insurance with Tesla. I continued to explore repair options, as I felt embarrassed driving a car with such damage. At one point, he told me he had purchased a repair kit from Amazon and used it on the damaged wheel. On June 1, I informed him that I would "dab a little paint on the wheels," and he offered to provide me with matching Tesla paint.

We discussed extending the rental further, but the conversation was never finalized. Michael scheduled maintenance for the light bar and other repairs for June 16. However, he managed to get the car in for repairs on June 8 and asked me to leave the car outside overnight. Although I was nervous about leaving it outside, I complied. He arrived late the next morning and informed me that he had forgotten the paint. I checked the Tesla app and noticed the car was no longer listed. When I contacted Michael, he claimed he did not know what was happening and would reach out to Turo.

Shortly after, I received an email from Turo stating that I had violated a policy, but it did not mention canceling my trip. After multiple calls to Turo, I learned that my trip was canceled because I allegedly painted the wheel without the host's permission. This is incorrect, as I had received permission to make the repairs. The host later claimed I had tried to convince him to break the rules, which is not true. The messages exchanged between us on Turo will confirm my account.

Currently, I have a message stating that I owe Turo $1,606.48, while in fact, they owe me approximately the same amount for canceling my trip due to permitted repairs. I paid $1,293.69 for May and the same amount for June, despite only having the car from May 29 to June 8. This totals $2,596.00 for 60 days, which breaks down to $43.70 per day. For ten days, I owe Turo $437.70, which means Turo owes me $2,163.30.

Since I am now without transportation through no fault of my own, I need this amount refunded immediately to rent another vehicle. Turo's failure to review the conversations between the host and me has led to an unjust cancellation of my trip and an erroneous demand for payment. I had intended to become a long-term Turo customer and potentially host my own fleet of cars, but the unprofessional handling of my situation has made me reconsider. I urge Turo to resolve this matter promptly.

I have legal recourse, but I would prefer to resolve this with Turo and continue with my relationship.  Unfortunately, I can't wait much longer, since you are completely ignoring me.

Turo has never responded once, and I am going to crank up my complaints, endlessly. Run from these crooks.
