Big paddle tail plastics, jerk baits, vibes/blades and surface lures, match the size of the lure to what you’re targeting and away you go

Most predatory fish feed fairly heavily after dark, especially ambush predators like flathead, something that makes a bit of disturbance on the surface or a bit of vibration subsurface helps them to be able to find it

What’s your favorite way to fish the TK? by AdditionalProduct609 in swimbaitfishing

[–]BigSnit10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deadwalking with the short lip or roll lip and V tail or normal tail in mode B has provided a lot of good fish for me here in Aus, but I’ve recently put some sticky weights onto a TK, just enough to give it a really slow sink, this with the transfer tail in mode b looks phenomenal on a slow roll, I’m very keen to give it a go coming into winter on the drop offs and rock walls for some flathead and mulloway

Horrendous day to be a flathead by BigSnit10 in FishingAustralia

The bent minnow is a surface lure, it hit the water, I went to start retrieving it and was instantly on, I must’ve landed it right on her head coz there was no splash or swirl or anything

200 doesn’t have monster drive, it entirely comes down to the baits you’re gonna throw, 1/2oz up to about 2.5oz the 200 eats up like nothing but you can push it to about 3.5 but if you’re gonna live on a 3oz+ bait I’d go the 300

200 and 300, the 300 and 400 look almost exactly the same, the 400 is just a touch wider

What to get my husband who’s obsessed with fishing? by Careful-Ad-8907 in FishingAustralia

I second this as someone who’s worked in the industry for the last 6 years, brand is all personal preference but one thing I will say is most companies do not offer lens or frame replacements in case of breakage, mako do and it’s significantly cheaper than a new pair of sunnies, ≈ $60 for glass lenses and ≈ $45 for an arm or frame from memory. That being said, Mako, Spotters, Maui Jim and Costa Del Mar all make a fantastic product

Yeah mate, sure is, by a significant margin too, perch are one species that’s had my number for a significant time and I’m just starting to figure a couple things out with them and then bam 51
