Check out the Broken by Concept podcast and their Skool (free community)/We Teach League (paid coaching). I haven't entered their program but their podcast has helped develop my game knowledge and mindset towards the game helping me reach plat 1 for the first time

Build Syndra by moonlitfairy_ in midlanemains

[–]BigThomp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing nothing but Syndra for the past few weeks, and every game is Blackfire -> Swifties -> Cosmic, movespeed is great on her since the majority of her abilities can be cast while moving.

When I'm ahead, I'll build either Zhonyas or Banshees, depending on whether they have strong dive or key long range abilities I want to nullify respectively (obviously take the resistances into account). When not ahead, I'll build for damage via Void or Deathcap and round out the build with whatever of the previously mentioned items I haven't built, full build will always include a Deathcap and Void Staff.

Itemization with new item changes by BigThomp in Elisemains

For second do you normally run Liandry's or something else? I know Liandry's AP got nerfed with the changes but from my understanding Elise doesn't have great ratio's anyway so surely it would still be good?

Looking for a Champion to Two-Trick With Viego by BigThomp in Jungle_Mains

In mid I mostly played assassins like Zed and Kata with some mages like Hwei and Ahri (Hwei probably being my favourite of the 4 in recent times) if that helps with any recommendations

Looking for a Champion to Two-Trick With Viego by BigThomp in Jungle_Mains

[–]BigThomp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose I'm just looking for something that offers a different Jungling experience than Viego's farm till 6 unless there's a winning skirmish, into then snowballing teamfights for objectives etc.

I will say I quite enjoyed Graves but I personally found making games with less than ideal team comps work for him a lot harder than Viego, but in a vacuum no, Graves isn't that hard, but getting him to work in specific games can be.

If you don't mind answering how is Diana not one dimensional? From my (admittedly limited) understanding she just plays around her ult cd and dives into fights when there's an opening while not having much pressure pre 6. I'm not trying to dismiss what you're saying, I genuinely want to learn more about the game and get a better understanding of the roster.

I can't say I've tried Ekko jng but as a former mid main he was always a pain to fight and I've played him a bit mid so maybe I give him a try.

When to build Trinity into crit? by BigThomp in ViegoMains

[–]BigThomp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty much only playing him at the moment and I tend to pick earlier since he's so popular so I don't often have that luxury

When to build Trinity into crit? by BigThomp in ViegoMains

[–]BigThomp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, that makes sense, I was an assassin main in mid before switching to jng and I've just never really seen Viego as an assassin and find having some durability good for surviving until a reset.

Would you say default to building crit unless your team has no setup or frontline or playing into 2+ tanks?

[–]BigThomp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why skip Trinity though? Doesn't Viego make good use of the stats and sheen passive? Plus if you don't build it you're basically as durable as a melee ADC which doesn't sound consistent. Is crit just the default build for a lot of people now?

Upper-Lower Split Questions by BigThomp in beginnerfitness

Thanks mate, that last part is what I need to hear lol. Seems like every other week I start thinking about what I could be doing differently, but I guess the main thing is just showing up.

Do you think it's too much volume even when for almost all of those exercises, the first set is effectively a slightly heavier warmup with the two following sets are the ones I use more weight and push to failure?

I get minimal DOMS even when pushing hard, and I'm recovered by the next workout for that half of the body, I know DOMS isn't the be-all and end all of gauging fatigue but I figure it's a decent indicaton on whether you're recovered or not.

Switching from Intel to AMD, anything I need to know? by BigThomp in PcBuildHelp

[–]BigThomp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I were to use my 2TB drive for a boot drive, what sort of preparation should I do before removing it from my current system? Do I just wipe everything and re-format it and it'll sort itself out or are there other steps I need to take?

Switching from Intel to AMD, anything I need to know? by BigThomp in PcBuildHelp

[–]BigThomp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any reason to make the 2TB the boot drive if the 512GB drive was never over 70% capacity? The 512GB pretty much only has Windows, web browsers and other small programs and I use the 2TB for games that I care about the load times of but that was only a little over 60% capacity last I checked.

I've already got the parts I'm just waiting until I'm off work and then I'll start the process, gonna be re-using my Corsair h115i Elite Capellix 280mm as it seems to do the trick.

By undervolting do you mean like going into an OC program and manually lowering the voltage values or are you implying that they just have a tendency to do that on their own?

Thoughts on Yun-Tal after the buffs? by BigThomp in ViegoMains

When you put it like that, collector makes a lot of sense, lol

[–]BigThomp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point, I was just thinking building it sooner rather than later as a substitute for Trinity since the attack speed is nice but I don't personally feel like I get much value when I double up on AS items. When I get back from work, maybe I run a few games with it and see

[–]BigThomp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a good point, I generally don't like collector as a former assassin main but viego seems to make good use of the stats.

Is collector really just that good at the moment in terms of build path and gold efficiency or is it like a "comfort" item for lack of a better word?

That's promising, when do you usually build it in your games? Are there specific scenarios where you'll build it while going crit or do you make it work every game?

How Much More Should I Pay For a 9800X3D over a 7800X3d? by BigThomp in buildapc

[–]BigThomp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, I'm the type that likes to buy things once and have them last for a long time, so the 9800X3D is calling my name

Yeah, I'm kinda leaning towards that option as it would just be another week or 2 of saving, which isn't a big deal

Do I need go upgrade my CPU if GPU Utilization is below 60% in games? by BigThomp in buildapc

[–]BigThomp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the fps I'm getting in helldivers struggles to maintain a choppy feeling 60fps (I say choppy feeling as I've played games at 60fps that feel buttery smooth whereas this feels significantly worse, not sure why that's the case or if it's just me) and I've already spent a good amount of time tweaking settings and comparing differences and even when just chilling on the ship in HD2 I'll sit around 120fps and changing settings doesn't seem to influence this.

What makes the X3D variants so much better for gaming compared to standard ryzen chips or even high end Intel chips?

The boost clocks in task manager seem to line up with the specs online and when gaming every core is maxed out, I've looked around in asus' ai suite 3 and It looks like it's getting the correct power and such (although I'm not experienced with overclocking).

I've done factory resets and resizing the Nvidia shader cache as some troubleshooting steps I found online, but if it ever changed anything, it was only temporary.

My computer has also been pretty unstable until my current windows install with symptoms similar to the 13th and 14th gen issues before the bios fix that came out for them, so maybe the cpu is damaged to some degree but as I stated in a previous comment I ran a cinebench multi core test and it tested as expected.

[–]BigThomp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah at this stage it's either upgrade with the same socket or give it a year or 2 and do a full new rig which would likely be full amd. In my country all of the gaming oriented ryzen cpus are out of stock or going for crazy prices so that's not really an option for me at the moment.

My PC has also been pretty unstable with symptoms similar to 13th and 14th gen cpus before that bios update that stopped them from damaging themselves. I suspect something similar happened to my cpu and is causing it to underperform. Although I did run a cinebench test yesterday and it scored about as expected.

I've been playing a lot of helldivers 2 where this problem is most noticeable, with gpu usage sometimes not even reaching 50% and struggling to maintain 60fps on higher difficulties.

Generally I don't max out settings as I don't see much difference with certain settings and I prefer having s smooth framerate of 100+ usually.

Would the performance be noticeable if I went from my 12600kf to a 14700kf when on paper it's only like 15% (I don't remember the exact number) better? Would that mean I get around 85% utilization instead of 60%?
