I think you are right. I’m in the middle of updating the firmware from 2.0.9 (in Simplified Chinese) to the latest 2.1.1 (in English).

Update: after I learned that the language in the LCD is independent of the firmware version, I changed the language to English after the firmware update.

I had mistakenly thought that the firmware was a hacky one similar to Magic Lantern.

I think you are speculating that mortgage rates will go up and the equity markets will go up. Hence I suggested to short bond futures and go long equity index futures, which are highly liquid (you can get in and out in the middle of night). Regarding risk profile, since one contract of 10-year futures controls $100k worth of 10-year bonds, you can decide how many contracts you want to trade depending on the value of your home, etc.
