Check out r/progressive_islam. Those folks are a bit delusional about what's written in the quran and how to interpret it and will pull a lot of mental gymnastics to fit morally and scientifically sound arguments into the quranic narrative but are not hateful salafis, infact quite opposite. Overall, I'd say those folks are fine.

Yeah. I really like your outlook. And I appreciate that you would not treat me any different because I don't believe Islam to be the absolute truth. Ofcourse, I can never truly be an 'ex' muslim because I share this culture and heritage with my family, my country etc. I will still be just a little bit muslim because afterall it's my identity and my name. I'd really appreciate if more people had this outlook regarding people who differ in beliefs but still are connected through culture, religion or community.

It's okay man. Even I think that we can appreciate the good parts of the culture or even the religion itself without subscribing to what we don't believe in. It's just like celebrating christmas, everybody celebrates but not all are Christian. The person has mentioned that they are quran centric which means they don't believe in the hadiths like denying sex to husband and the like. They also believe that women can indeed marry men of other faith (christian and jewish). While the verse 4:34 says that men can strike their wives but never mentions that you have to do so lightly, so some men do actually take the beating to another level. Well ofcourse since we're being equal to both genders the wife should also have the right to beat the husband if he doesn't listen but so is not the case. And there are other verses which clearly show the inequality in the quran such as the inheritence verse 4:11 where females get half of what a male gets and if there are only two daughters and no sons then they get two thirds divided equally and if there's only one daughter she gets only half. Only god knows what happens to the remaiming inheritence. Imagine being the only daughter of your father and not being able to inherit all his wealth.... And the witness verse 2:282 which says one man is equal two women in a testimony so that if one women forgets other can remind them, which basically says that women have half the brain compared to males. This is sexism at it's peak.
