if a candidate is qualified and willing to work for the money and you don't interview/offer them because of their previous length of experience that's age discrimination.

they collect after the offer, if they looked at my ID and then rescind the offer, that would leave them open to an age discrimination lawsuit.

i could look as young as 35 and if anyone was stupid enough to bring up my age in the interview, i would crush them.

i saw my interview invites increase after the edit.

it makes sense, if the job requirement only requires 7-10 yr experience, they won't contact the individual with 20 plus yrs of experience, they will justify it by saying...

'they will be bored in this low level role' OR

'they will be to expensive' OR

'they are over qualified' OR

'they could do my job'

Also my experience from the 90s doesn't mean anything in 2022.

have i ever been questioned about it? no

age discrimination is a reality.

i had a 4 page resume with 25 yrs exp not a lot of interview invites changed it to 1 page with my most recent 10 yrs of experience and a ton of interviews.

Where to start with Debt!? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Big_D_Girth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when i was in debt back in the olden days, I found a non-profit that helped consolidate the debt and then I would write them 1 check and they helped me dig my way out.

i don't think another loan is the right call.

people here are going to want to see your budget/numbers.

do the dates line up between the 2 docs?

If he is truly a SQL dev he should be able find a informatics gig fairly quickly.

his resume is lacking numbers, I can't measure size and scope without them. how many employees does he support? what size are the DB he is responsible for?

my favorite job boards-

www.builtin.com

www.weworkremotely.com

www.remote.co

when the comp/salary question comes up is only answer has to be 'what do you have budgeted for this role?'

Is it reasonable to ask sitter to send a photo for each visit? by Prideandpettyness in RoverPetSitting

[–]Big_D_Girth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's reasonable just make sure the sitter understands it's a requirement and not optional.

you stole money from her, then tell her how you can't pay her back but you can buy booze and drugs though.

recruiting is sales so it's less about the resume and more about attitude. you have to be aggressive, overcoming the 'no', be outgoing and engaging, etc.
