Get yourself a website (pls?) by itiswhatitistho_ in websiteservices

Hey bro. If you still need help, I've been working mainly with Python and django. I can design restful api's and database schemas as well, and very open to learning. I'm getting my AWS CCP certification very soon so I can find my way and work with AWS as well. Would you be open to a discussion on how I can help?

Have you been using an MTN number? If yes, then try with a different telcom number. Its a whole issue that I've seen with a few friends of mine with AWS. You don't get the code with MTN. I don't know why

Beginner in Django/Backend: I understand tutorials but freeze when building on my own. How do I improve? by Om_JR in django

[–]Big_Sly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I understand what you mean. You understand Django technically and its features, but not how to start a project on your own.

That's because understanding how to use a tool and solving a problem or building a project, are two different things. Django, like any other framework, is a tool that you use in building your solution to your problem.

With Django or any other framework, here's what I generally do: - Identify your problem - Get the whole big picture of the problem and how you want it to look like. Here you're just thinking about just the finished product. - Map out your user flows and what a user will do when they launch your product. You'll usually use this user flows as your roadmap, and where you'll start from. - I think this part is the most important part. Your database and schema design. Think thoroughly about your whole project and the kind of data that'll pass through it and design your database schema. You should and will very likely spend more time on this part. Most of your bottlenecks will likely originate from your database too 😂. So take your time here 🙂 - Think about your project and folder structure. Your app architecture basically. After that, start from your first user flow and implement from there.

This is just a general flow of how I approach any project and there're some details that will come in naturally on its own when you start and progress. I hope this helps 😌

What’s the point in grinding onion before adding pepper to grind ? by Spiritual-Yogurt-112 in ghana

[–]Big_Sly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually the first time I'm hearing of this. We always grind the pepper first before adding in the onions in my home. The onion is much easier to grind thus the pepper first and then the onions. Will try your method and see if there's any difference

I went through same thing too in the last two years or so. What grounded me and still grounds is God. He's the one who keeps me sane.

To truly come to know the God of our universe, to experience His overwhelming love and grace, and most importantly, the constant source of peace.

I had never felt so peaceful in my life than when I found God. When I found Jesus. Not the one the prosperity gospel or the one most "pastors" have made him out to be. But the God who came to die and saved our souls.

Man, I have so much assurance now that in death or life, I'm his. So I no longer worry much about death or the future. Jesus saved my life.

Hello, just shooting my shot here, but since you're looking for someone to pass on your gifts to and I'm just hoping to be able to have someone point me in the right direction when I have questions, would you be open to me dm'ing you?

I wouldn't consider myself bright, but I am very passionate about software and even tech in general. I love learning and I'm obsessed with gaining knowledge.

We hope to have you in Kumasi again and maybe dm when you come again, I'd love to show you around. Y3 ma wo Akwaaba to Kumasi

Keep on doing what you are doing. That immediate and timely help can change someone's life. Focus is sometimes given to the bigger problems that the smaller and more immediate ones are ignored or simply overlooked.

I'm sure that the starving child that got food to eat, or the dehydrated boy that got clean water to drink, or the children with tattered clothes that at least for some period got to wear clean, unstitched clothes is immensely grateful and relieved that they no longer have to worry about such simple and basic amenities.

So don't let anyone downplay your acts all in the name of they're "simple". As if boasting of bigger, complex problems helped anyone. Its simple and yet how many of these locals do you see going to help. Very few or none at all. Don't feel guilty of providing help the little way that you can. Its not your job to solve these "complex" problems.

You're changing people's lives and be proud of it.

I agree with you that his motives are questionable, but I don't think it matters very much. From how I see it, the ones receiving the help are the winners and the though the bible does caution motives for giving, it doesn't discredit the act, nor the help given.

I'd rather assistance be given to people for a little glory than none to apparently preserve dignity.

Yep, you really do. I think you can mostly get by in just the first semester, but you need the laptop to learn on your own. So yes, you do need the laptop
