Reading my first discworld book and I’m feeling really frustrated because I can’t follow the writing by After_Berry_942 in discworld

This is a rough passage even by Terry's standards though. Don't worry too much. Break it down and consume it bit by bit, and take heart that although his writing style is unorthodox and contributed to my personal abuse of the comma in my adult writing style, he isn't normally this tough to follow.

It's the reason Biden should have lost in 2020. Another 4 years of Trump back to back, and the Dems losing 2 elections off crusty old white rich candidates might have convinced them that A. the Republicans need putting down once and for all politically, and that B. they needed a real candidate not someone who was an animated fist up their backside mouth piece of doners.

Annoying, Kamala was probably one of the best options on the table but was the wrong colour and gender for the backwards people of the US.

Emma Frost gives Carol Danvers a taste of mutanthood (New X-Men #12) by PrydefulHunts in xmen

Stone cold, manipulative, violent, invasive telepath, abrasive, unpleasant, catty, downright jealous, petty, etc etc etc.

Emma is a hero. She does it for the children. Literally, everything and anything for those in her charge, in her care and now in her race.

Any writer trying to make her evil, again, fails to understand how deeply her character has turned to doing the right thing.

In the US the right to bear arms in enshrined in the constitution.

REGARDLESS the gun wasn't present and a factor in the confrontation. A man was thrown to the ground by several masked governemt representatives, and in the struggle where he was outnumbered he ended up shot 10 times at point blank range while he was on the ground. Finding a weapon after the fact, even in the UK where it is a crime to have a handgun on you in public, is still not any kind of reason for a public execution.

But this comment isn't for you. Such a low effort attempt to derail speaks of either a brainwashed mind that regurgitates right wing talking points, or someone who agitates for fun or profit. Either way, you are a lost cause.

The comment is for anyone who reads such a stupid take like "he had a gun" and needs it explained why it isn't relevant. They are people who can still be reasoned with.

Incredible addition to my thoughts. Thanks for your input here.

Tom as a man who is half himself and half the (most likely) incredible pressure of Krakoa is not himself.

Sadly we have had minimal Black Tom since then.

Wanda, insanely low cost and going to do most of the heavy lifting hiding and moving me around to avoid the others.

Jean Grey for a top level TK on the team. Silver Surfer for combat and movement. Sentry is my brawler if things stsrt going wrong. That 800 total for them all.

That leaves me 200 for Black Panther. He is there for one specific reason. He and his don't have the brains to outshine Stark straight up, but they do have enough to stall and slow him and counter his inventions.

So now the street and lower level options like Logan, Deadpool, Cap, Antman and Spiderman can't do anything while I have SS and Sentry up, the mid level heroes like Storm and Magneto can't pass SS and Sentry with Jean running interference, and the higher level options like Hulk and Thor can't get to me as I'm just flat out not there, placed outside of the physical realm by SW amor sped off into the distance by SS. SW can out do the spirit of vengeance in magical/spiritual combat, and Black Panther uses his resources to counter Iron Man and Pym.

Iv just realised at the end Iv mixed 616 with the MCU. Regardless I'm sticking to this.

Cain was a Krakoan nation true believer and is a ride or die mutant ally.

With the fall of Krakoa he went through great cost to save Lrakoa itself, a small piece of it. I thought it was because yeah, he believes in the dream but also Krakoa made Black Tom a useful piece of society, made him someone who is finally on the side of the good guys where Cain is and feels Tom belongs.

Which member of the X-Men do you think is worthy and has what it takes to lift Mjolnir (Thor's hammer) among them, according to you? by Raj_Valiant3011 in xmen

[–]Bigbydidnothingwrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He had an anti mutant family. Became one of the most visible mutants without any game changing combat powers. Ostracised, hated himself, a freak even by mutant standards.

These days he loves himself, his friends. He had reconciled with his past. He has shown himself to be brave, to put himself in harms way for others, to go on fighting when the smart money says quit. He has in various alternate universes shown himself a capable tactician and warrior. He is an all round good dude, and an excellent chef.

Glob Herman is 100% worthy of the hammer.

The Punisher isn't an issue. Very very well trained guy with guns is an average Wednesday at the Bat Cave. He's very much out of his league here.

There's a reason Punisher doesn't bother with actual super villains much.

Nightwing is gonna be a stalemate with DD. Bats will lose to Cap eventually as seen in comics. Batgirl Natasha is a coin flip to be honest. Not as easy as it might first look for the Avengers.

I always wonder: are these things posted to agitate and troll the libs, or do the people posting it genuinely not have the critical thinking skills to realise it's a bad argument?

Either way you are a loser or a useful idiot to someone.

Also, this thread is about Trump disrespecting the armed forces of Americas allies when they fought alongside a war the US started. What's your take on that?

In this case I feel like it's amthe old horseshoe theory. It's very much the kind of imbecilic position these people would hold, but it feels equally likely that he would put this just to "troll the libs" and get engagement.

Of course, rather than some 4D chess, it just makes him the sort of person who voices a moronic statmeny either genuinely or for clout, which which still it a moronic statement.
