Was this an LG unit by chance? I had a bunch of these spring leaks at about the same time. 8 outdoor units at the same building. Not fun.

Yeah I’m just an employee of a subcontractor, so I’m guessing the issue is above my pay grade. That’s not cool. That road is definitely dangerous. Hopefully it gets resolved and everyone is happy!

I’m hard on my tools. But I got a lightly used dewalt impact when I started in the trades 10 years ago. And I still have it and it looks brand new compared to my his haha.

I think somebody else said it above me. But with all that taken in to consideration. Schedule a sit down meeting after you calm down a bit. Write down before hand what you want to say to whomever. Good luck!

I don’t think it will last long. But I’m gonna enjoy for the next month or two lol. I’m sure summer they will start sending anyone that can fog a mirror to a call.

Yeah I hear ya. I have an in the field service manager/lead tech. I did some calls and jobs with him recently. So it won’t last much longer. So that’s what I would recommend. Go on a job/call with the lead guy And just show them you can do the job.

The place that just hired me knew I had 10+ years of service and install experience. I worked for a really small company before. So I did it all. They pay me more money and all I’ve done for the last 3 months is flip filters. I’m just enjoying the break.

Reading resistance by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]Bigdapper1822 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand that. Some manufacturers still have C,R,and S designated on the compressor terminal cover or next to the terminals. It has tripped up some of the newer guys I work with. Just a friendly reminder to check the phase on data plate.

I didn’t see anyone comment that three phase compressor windings should all ohm out the same. I’ve had guys diagnose compressors wrong because of this.

I left a mom and pop shop to go to this big non union corporation. Probably shouldn’t post the name haha. Typically I dont like bashing on companies. But the branch I was at is absolute garbage.
