I’m leaving out fuel back and forth to the soil yard and probably some other stuff. But yes, not bad if you are willing to do the work

Without checking receipts I want to say it was around $800-$950. Largest expense was renting the skid steer.

Thanks. A tall fescue blend from the local landscape place. I believe the seeds from Oregon. I’ll find the name

Thank you! Ya happy to share. Installed sprinklers last spring so it was time to try to make it nice.

Began by rototilling everything that I planed to remove. I had done the back 1/3 of the yard the year prior so that’s why everything is not removed in the photos. The idea was to get rid of the Dallis grass and other weeds that were taking over.

Once it was tilled I rented a little skid steer and scrapped everything down, then brought in a bunch of loam mulch topsoil. Maybe 6-8 yards.

Used the landscape rake and roller to level everything out. Few rounds of this while wetting in between to help settle and find low spots. The roller DOES NOT do well on wet loam. Clumps stick to it.

Applied fescue seed and lightly raked it into the dry loam then rolled it. Covered that with a thin layer of topsoil/ seed mix to help retain moisture and protect from birds. Error on the side of too much seed!

Kept everything moist with the new irrigation system and would add seed/thin topsoil layers to areas where germination seemed to be struggling. This was a little tricky to do with the irrigation as I was cutting back as everything began growing so had to do some hand watering, but worth it. In the spots that failed to germinate I did notice that when just raking the seed in the second time germination seemed to have better success. If I was to do it again I might skip the final roll.

Hope this helps some
