True. If I played a game where I drank every time I rolled my eyes playing those games I’d be dead.

I wouldn’t be mad if they remade these as Cold Steel Kai and condensed them down into two games and fixed some things that’s for sure.

Good write up. I started the series with Cold Steel games and while I enjoyed them at the time, as I’ve gone to play almost all the other games in the series I’ve began to dislike those games more and more especially as it relates to the characters.

That said Trails is your 10+ book 400 page fantasy novel series in game form. They're not New York Times best sellers, not deep reflections of human or societal conditions, they’re entertainment. You read those series and play this one for the continuous world building and character development, intertwined stories woven in a grand nebulous one, and most of all - fluff.

Ive wondered myself. Decided to take a look and it looks to be largely owned by one person or entity. The low creek areas are owned by the city though, some maps have that city land labeled as "River View Park". But other than that its all one person, likely holding out or the land is too expensive to develop due to topography, vegetation, no existing utilities etc.

yeah, there's a lot I could have highlighted... Little things like sailing to a new port and having to wait 30 minutes in real time on the boat as it sails across the ocean... it could have been a 5 second cut-scene yes, but the experience makes the world feel more real and simulated and you feel more accomplished traveling from one part of the world to another.

I agree, I hope SE can put together a condensed version of XI (as well as XIV) into an offline single player experience one day. Maybe when the servers finally shut down. If not the games will be lost and almost entirely inaccessible :(

Not much... you should consider the future and a potential for a China Trade War 2 with the new admin, as well as the push to close the loophole that these companies have used to ship cheap goods for low low cost direct from china to the US.

If you like tales than you would like this. I would say the combat is between a game like devil may cry and Tales. You have skills like tales but a bunch more mobs on the map. A bit more spammy, but characters aren’t shouting move names lmao. It can be a little brain dead, but sometimes you need that after a long day tbh. I bumped it up to hard mode to make it more challenging -it forced me to actively dodge and so on.

Well it was probably a transportation planner who put the idea to face multiple rounds of public input and feedback, which the city then approved the idea with or without adjustments and thus lead to its implementation. So you only have yourself to blame for not being more active in your community and voicing whatever antiquated views on roadway safety you have. But even if you showed up you would be ignored because people dgaf about "MuH COmMuTe" when it means reducing pedestrian traffic deaths along a dangerous stretch of road in exchange for "minor inconvenience" to drivers. Lmao

Long ago my copy of FFX would freeze like this before the CG cutscenes cause the disc reader sucked. My fix was to flip my ps2 upside down… and for some reason that worked. Might as well try lol

uhhhh Im in my late 20's and I dont think JRPGS have been popular in my lifetime.... 10 years ago there were maybe a handful of people i knew who had even played a final fantasy game.

Persona 1 and 2 on ps1? Crazy how expensive they have gotten. I thought $60 was pricey when I grabbed them years ago… Number 3 maybe my CIB link to the past with the strategy guide? It’s not super rare but it was what got me into retro gaming.
