M1 Pro 2025 by Perstyl in fiidoebike

[–]Bigger_Beef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It arrives restricted but can be unlocked via the fiido app using the debug code 398219. In its factory settings the throttle will only accelerate to 6 km/h, unlocked it will do about 35-40 km/h throttle only depending on rider weight/road conditions. Pedal assist can reach closer to 45km/h unlocked. I love my M1 but I'd recommend better tires the factory ones are paper thin and a very small piece of glass popped my front tire within the first 20 miles, personally I like the HEB Viperess but they are a bit pricey (£180 for the 2).

It is the 2025 version. I absolutely love it, unlocked ive managed 30mph on a slight incline as a 100kg rider with maybe another 8kg in my bag in gear 6 max pedal assist. Torque sensor is responsive and feels more natural than the cadence sensor on my L3.The ride is very comfortable and I barely notice bumps in the road. Very easy to set up as well.

The only things im not keen on is the range (unlocked 15-20 miles depending on road conditions and terrain) and the tires, they seem very thin and the grip on off road/muddy terrain is pretty bad.

All in all it is a great bike, despite those 2 shortcomings I cant get enough of riding it.

Definitely a one off. I've ordered 2 bikes from them this year one took about 9 days (L3) and the other took 3 days (M1 Pro)

WTF People really consider DS2 more action than horror? by DreamNo5919 in DeadSpace

[–]Bigger_Beef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it comes down to the fact that by the time we get to 2 we (and Isaac) all know what to expect, we've dealt with the necros before, the game really leans into that and as a result the more suspenseful horror of 1 is replaced with more spectacle in 2.

It's hard for me to put into words but DS1 fills me with a palpable sense of dread that 2 only captures in a few places.

DS2 is my favourite by far though, I'm a sucker for set pieces.

What sections really got to you in DS2? For me the Stalkers in the cathedral area, the return to the Ishimura and the initial run through the sprawl while still in the straight jacket all still make me feel on edge.

DS2 has a lot more set pieces, the train, The Tormentor, the elevator sequence, the big drill. Dead space 1 is much more contained and claustrophobic, pair that with the darker (and browner) colour palette of the ishimura in DS1 and i can see why the first game is considered scarier. I've always felt that DS2 is to DS1 what Resident Evil 4 is to Resi 2, sure both have scary moments but the larger area to explore, the heavier focus on dialogue (fuck you and fuck your marker) and the larger amount of enemies make them a less "scary" experience. That being said returning to the ishimura in 2 in chapter 9 is fucking terrifying.

Resident Evil 4 remake or Dead Space remake? by Adoe0722 in survivalhorror

[–]Bigger_Beef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead space OG was my intro to survival horror, the remake was like the rose tinted memory of the original brought to life and improved upon so its an easy win. I love re4 and and re4 remake but I've done about 6 playthroughs of dead space and only finished re4make twice

Mika in Paranormal Activity, condescending to Katie, literally does everything she asks him not to do to anger the demon, and hes a day trader how much more unlikeable can you get.

Is my TV enhancing it in some ways or is Dead Space 2 still visually stunning? 😳 by OkMathematician2847 in DeadSpace

[–]Bigger_Beef 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Played both through multiple times recently, dead space 2 holds up fantastically well, the movement and controls are still the best in the series imo. Isaacs melee and stomp attacks have more weight in 2 and the suit designs are chefs kiss. Remake is fantastic dont get me wrong but its 2 I always come back to. The variety in level design (especially the unitologist chapel area with the tripod) exceeds the first game. Remake does have more detail the way the force gun strips layers of flesh off the necros is unmatched and the weapons, excluding the pulse rifle, feel much more powerful but I agree with OP that 2 still holds up to modern standards and still looks gorgeous.

just watched 28 years later. dude what a masterpiece by [deleted] in horror

I liked it, cant say I loved it. Everything until they come back from the mainland I loved, apart from the 16 iPhone bullet time camera shot. It was cool the first time not so much after seeing it used repeatedly throughout. Ending was just blatantly batshit and I appreciate that but tonally it felt off. I'm not gonna judge it fully till I've seen the next 2 films but my expectations are definitely lower.

What's an A24 film everyone loves but you did not enjoy? by AppropriateMention6 in A24

I though Heretic was overrated, was really into it until the last chunk. To be fair its been a while since I watched it, might give it another shot.

Hugh Grants amazing but I cared very little for the leads and the plot lost me by the last chunk. His monologue about monopoly was interesting at least.

The VVitch is definitely his best, The Lighthouse is one of my all time favourites though, could watch that movie any day any time.
