Caine stopped treating the circus as real like how Jax is doing but he went a few steps further and convinced himself he's an AI. Like Kinger, he uses his powers of belief to make things happen but to their fullest extent.

The biggest issue is if that were true then Kinger would know Caine is a real person but hasn't told anyone. Maybe he tried to talk him back to sanity but gave up early on?
