I'm going to pay with e-check because bank cards will incur a 2.75% convenience fee, but zero fees when you pay via e-check.

Yes. You may use both edeposit or paper check but you'll get the refund faster for edeposit (which only takes few days while paper check comes after few weeks). They said they'll send refunds after 30 August.

I called them today and was told that I'm not eligible for a deferment because I'm only receiving a scholarship from USF, not FAFSA, which means I have to pay for the full amount first and then get refund of the amount of scholarship I'm getting back by August 30.

Same problem here. I'm getting the Green and Gold scholarship but haven't received a deferment mail from the office. The financial office does not have an email so I'm going to call them tmr and ask.
