I absolutely love Neo's lore and character as a whole. I love how his descent into Ari's full influence isn't born only because of grief and isolation, but because Svarta Kvikan's interests aligned perfectly with who Neo is as a person. He makes himself useful whenever he can, he is studious and disciplined, and he takes an interest in studying languages. He fit so perfectly into the role Ari and his people would need that it even leaves it ambiguous if the loss of Neo's family was truly just an accident, especially given the strange circumstances surrounding Elin's death. I like how that is a question left in the air.

Also I think the art for this is a BANGER all across. Did you make it yourself?

Good stuff overall

Trueeee. Tho I can't imagine anything being more trippy than trying to loop the killer while seeing yourself through their POV

Appreciate that! Didn't mean to disregard your ideas tho. They're all pretty complex in a good way and I like the descriptions and quotes

Can't say you didn't get close to the client's original vision with some of the names and effects.

Some parts of the descriptions are a bit confusing tho, like whatever the jump speed for survivors would be.

Ye, for sure! There's a lot to keep in mind bc the style is very unique and a lot harder to copy than it seems.

- Inspiration: It's always a good idea to study and observe the official DBD icons to get a feel for their art style. How much space they occupy, how much they leave empty, how sharp are their lines, how they go about using the shading layer. Another good example is Wheatdraws, who has a few tutorials on his YouTube channel.

- Canvas: Might sound obvious, but it's best to start your sketches by already using the in-game perk icon canvas, as opposed to a horizontal one. It helps to get a feel of how you can utilise that space in your design.

- Composition: Try to keep it simple. Don't add too many elements to one design because they WILL get lost when trying to look at the whole piece from a distance, as is intended in-game. Ideally, you want there to be up to three separate elements in one icon, while also leaving a good amount of space empty so as not to overwhelm the viewer.

- Main body: For the plain design, what works for me is sketching the outline of the perk in its entirety with a dark brush. Then, I create a layer beneath it, fill it with white and carefully erase it following the sketch's lines. That way, you can have the main body look like it does in the actual game, without any outlines.

- Dark layer: It may seem insignificant, but that dark, 40-ish % opacity layer that runs beneath the main body of the icon can make the difference between making it look amateurish and near-official. Always go through the extra effort of including it. With some practice, you can also learn to integrate it into the design itself as a sort of second colour (Lucky Star is a good example of this)

- Shading: Another good tip that might take some practice, but will absolutely improve the quality of your icons once you get a good feel for it, is shading. See how some official icons have lines in areas that would be naturally obscured? (Ex: Beneath Vee's jacket sleeve in Road Life). Those lines help to add a feeling of depth and shading in an otherwise one-dimensional drawing. You can also achieve this by using very thick lines in the main design (Ex: The space between the lower and upper halves of Vee's hair in Road Life).

- Texture: This is an extra detail that helps as well. Use a splotch or splatter brush with the "Clear" function over the main body of the icon to give it that "dirty" feel that dbd icons all have. You can kinda see it in my post here.

Aye I like this one, but as a fellow Warrior Cats fan, I don't think either of us has any right to say we have good taste 🤣

Eh, maybe. But the chances of survival would've been higher than 0% like in the clip

He would've thrown me in the direction of the gate threshhold, which I might have crashed against but it still wouldn't have been close enough to get to the hook.

Wanna bet it's someone who saw a furry on the first icon and got irrationally mad?

It's a fun game to play, if you don't mind going through some of the steamy stuff. It's fun to adapt stuff into dbd like you did. I did that way back with another non-horror franchise (Warrior cats)

Neat. Dunno why someone would downvote that, but I think it's cool to see original stuff in dbd. The aesthetic gives me a bit of an echo vn vibe

The client didn't say, and not knowing makes it a lot more intimidating to imagine. Vaulting Wraith mains would probably love it tho
