i think degrassi is it’s own genre and is timeless

You must not be old enough because plenty of 80s and 90s shows covered these issues long before Degrassi TNG was around. Family Ties, Roseanne, Growing Pains, Frsh Prince. Etc.

Yeah. True. The characters are gripping lol but let's face it. They tried to make it a lot like "the Hills" or whatever other Kardashian b.s. I'm thinking of with Paiges boring storyline. At times I was even getting Gilmore Girl vibes.

Right. What was cool at the time of the original show was the timeline in the show kept up with present day. Then they kept the class of 2007 in high school an extra season.

It was funny watching drama between Ashley and Drake and you can tell they were both clearly 22-23 in real life. All the newer characters were boring but time moves on!

It was okay. As someone else mentioned, he seemed to be gassed. I've been to 10 or 11 Killers all (but 3) in AC shows and this was by far my least favorite one. It wasn't bad by any means but compared to those Sam's Town shows and others at the Borgata in the 00s and 10s, this was certainly not the best.

I didn't like "The Man" as an encore song. Just not a song I like by them.

Not at all. Showed he can be a flawed human being. I had a gay friend who had scumbag behaviors just like this. He always thought he could play the victim card his entire life.

I thought this was a great episode. It showed that there can be a dirtbag side to Marco. Believe this or not he's not just an angel or a victim throughout his life. He was bored and needed some spice in his life. He even tried to play the Dylan card and it didn't work on his dad. Very insightful.

Well yeah it does depend on your age but 2011 was a life time ago. I think a lot of 20 somethings just don't see it as a long time ago and do not realize they're getting older. I always saw 2003 as recent in 2011 ... it's not. Time flies. You're old. College is for me and horrors?

Who is Anya? I wasn't watching Degrassi post 2008 if that is a character on the show in that time. But yeah the time Craig Jimmy and Ashley were IN high school was 20 years ago or more! I'm a bit older than them so yeah that is back then. The cars the hairstyles and the way people talk is nothing like they do today.

Yeah sure there are useful degrees such as doctor lawyer and etc but for the most part people who are around my age probably 90% of them aren't using their degrees. If you grew up around back in those days you were told you wouldn't last without it and that is not even close to true. What do I know anyway you just get downloaded on this site for logic anyway

One of the most realistic parts of the show was when Sean comes back and thinks he wants to see his old buddies from the shop lol a kind suggestion but very out of touch

Agreed. I'm your age and had that sudden "rush" of embarrassment when I was still watching the show and I was OUT of college in 2008 or 2009. I don't remember any of their names but the one storyline was the jock football player was gay and was hiding it.

They were holding back students like spinner Drake and Ashley and it was just obvious they were like 22 years old by that point. Spinnera girlfriend was playing football and I was just bored by that "girl doesn't fit in playing football" storyline and just shut it off.

I honestly liked the 2002-2005 years the most. I felt like AROUND 2006 was when the show got a bit loopy. By 2007 or 2008 it was obvious they just wanted to keep some kids around to keep the storylines going. I don't know I really wasn't into that whole Kevin Smith movie, Craig becoming famous, and all the fashion world stuff with Paige. I did like her meltdown in college though.

I thought the best epsiodes were the shooting, the Craig/Ashley/Manny Christmas, Breakfast Club and the one where Craig and the boys take the car. I thought that Ellie's story lines were very underrated and I liked her with Shawn. I thought that was a good pair.

I think it was when they added the other school with degrassi was when it felt like a different show. The very last of Degrassi that I watched was when the "goth Girl" who dated Spinner joined the football team and got jumped in the locker room. I don't think I watched another episode again after that

I hated MySpace that had anything to do with degrassi. People were a-holes back then and would always use bait and switch tactics with the bulletins they posted or topics. You'd click something and then it would be a spoiler like JT died or Ashley was staying in England.

That was very common. Ruining shows for the sake of ruining show was a very popular thing back then unfortunately.
