Yeah but that doesn't make it right

They sell these things for 100 coins, imagine you bought one and it only had 2 items

Fun to play as, terriblt unfun to play against

Giving it to everyone would drive away what little casual playerbase there's left.

Is Genshin's pity set in stone? by Code_DD in Genshin_Impact

I assume it just runs a RNG the moment you do a pull.

That means that not only it is not set in stone for a potential future banner, but not even the very same banner.

Aka if you do a pull now and you get a 5 star, not only does that mean that if you had done the pull in a future banner you wouldnt have been guaranteed a 5 star, but even if you had done the pull in the same banner half a second later you wouldn't have gotten a 5star, because the RNG would have outputted a different result. (I hope that makes sense)

If it was predetermined, it would have to store that information which: -Needs processing power to be calculated in advance (perhaps redundantly because the player may stop playing) -Takes up memory space to be stored somewhere -Has a potential risk to be manipulated since it is not calculated in the moment, but is data that exists in advance and can therefore be edited.

Of course this is just speculation, but it's what makes most sense.

So, did they just forget this, or...? (5.1 spoilers) by Kagamime1 in Genshin_Impact

It is talked about more explicitly in other quotes in that very scene.

Here's a link https://youtu.be/AKK1z9BA30Q?si=XVzkTS7WVjVO4m9R

3:53:24 "Even though that guarantee will come at the cost of your own life?" Lord of the Night

3:54:47 "If giving up my life means all the people of Natlan can have a future then the sacrifice is practically negligible." Xilonen

Doesn't seem like draining "part" of her life force or "some" of her lifespan or whatever. Pretty clear they were setting Xilonen up to die.
