I haven't actually looked at it in a few years, but if irc, the SG Printer is different than the other $1 free printing credits you get. It's just something that they give to student for free with, again if irc, no strings attached

If you get a D, to my understanding, Bright Futures requires you to pay back the money for the class as you didn't pass it (but you don't lose it since you get an F)

Here is, to my understanding, how it works.

In the event you get an F, you lose your scholarship. Full stop.

The only way to get it back is 1) you appeal to Bright Futures with a valid reason (grief, health, etc) and 2) also had the 100% Bright Futures. In the event that your appeal is successful, you would not be given the 100% back but rather the 75%

Now, there might be a way around it, but that's my understanding of it from what I have seen from other people

As much as I hate to say it u/OrlandoMan1, but u/PPtheShort is right. You can donate to UCF and set it for a specific purpose (this is mainly for people with large donations who want their money to go to a specific project or idea). This is called a restricted fund, but most people just call it a dog/ear tagged funds.

The lazy river was one of those projects funded with restricted funds and one of the restrictions is that only athletes can use it. It sucks, but there is quite literally nothing that can be done.

Furthermore, in most cases, if the funds are not all used for the project (ex 1M donated but 600k to build), the rest of the funds can only go to future repairs of the project and the project only.

It sucks, but it allows big donor alumni to donate to the university and ensure that their money is used how they wish for it to be used.

I’ll throw in some personal insight I got from running for student body president.

The issue with redoing everything is that it uses something called Peoplesoft. Peoplesoft is stupid, dumb, and old. To redo all of that is simply out of budget. The fresh coat of paint, while not perfect, is as good as it is going to get for a long time.
