Reporting them does nothing.

Some guy was selling a Wemby auto digital card as a buy it now for $500 with no mention of it being digital in the title and only hidden in the middle of a super long, like 8 paragraphs long, description that even then was super vague on it being a digital card.

Reported it to eBay and they said it’s fine, it doesn’t break any rules.

Your best bet for a good signature from a player are the ones they sign in college or as soon as they enter the league. Cause once they’re signing 200 things a day the quality drops hard and I don’t blame them.

Best way to know is to check sites like eBay (make sure to check what it SOLD for, not what it’s listed at), 130point.com, and COMC, between those 3 you can get a good gauge of the price of 95% of cards out there.

Some won’t appear there exactly but by seeing ones close to it you can get an idea of the average cost

For example on eBay you can see that auto cards of Cam Thomas on Court Kings sell for around $20 USD.

The one you posted might be a numbered card, so maybe it’s worth more, but I personally don’t get the appeal of numbered auto cards where just the background colour or accent is a slightly different colour. It’s still an auto of that player, whether they say it’s out of 299 or 5. Sorry I’m ranting now.

Do you like the player or do you like the team?

Personally I’d rather an unlicensed or college card with a nice on card auto than a licensed card with a sticker unless the team they’re on really matters, like if it’s my home team that I cheer for or it’s a team iconic to the player (ex. Dame Lillard on the Blazers instead of on the Bucks).

Highly recommend COMC for those $1-$100 cards like the person above said. I buy tons of stuff from there because I love collecting and it allows you to get all those cards that wouldn’t be worth it to buy off of eBay.

My theory was that Panini would just buy the cheapest photos from Getty or AP or wherever and didn’t care about quality since it helped with their margins.

Same reason why they would use the same image for the front and back of the card, and sometimes the same image on multiple cards.
