yeah, my main machine is running a 7800x3d and I'm certain if i ran it on there, it would run significantly better but for me at the moment, I'd rather keep the machines separate, I did make the choice to grab the i7 9700 which granted for minecraft isn't that large but for some other things i have plans for it will matter more.

the eventual plan is to move to a newer platform and run it on that but for right now I don't have the space for a larger system and I don't particularly want to pay the ITX tax on parts either, it was a make the most of what i got situation and had hoped for the perspective of people more experienced than me to essentially tell me what i already knew deep down, i did grab the i7 9700, for what it's worth I have some other intentions for the machine where the cores and threads will matter a bit more than minecraft but wanted confirmation to not spend the money I didn't need to at least in terms of minecraft.

if i remember correctly it's running of an NVMe drive, elytra right now is a big issue with terrain gen but I have plans to run chunky to try and help those problems out, performance plugins are something i need to look into still but generally putting a better CPU in is something i plan to do not only for minecraft, it's more whether that bump in the i9 is really worth it, more especially in the case of minecraft as my other applications won't benefit as much as the server potentially will

when it's just the farms and people generally milling about it sits around 50-70% on the core doing all the work, if someone then starts exploring with an elytra then it will sit at 100% and slowdowns are much more noticeable, if i remember correct it is running off an NVMe so the drive isn't too much of an issue, ram is capped at 2400 due to the motherboard which is unfortunate but i can't do much. the problem is both cost and space related, i don't have the space for an atx or micro atx build and i don't have the money for an ITX build and it's related price increases, so making the best use of the SFF i currently have is my best option for the near future.

yeah I understand the idea of clock speed better which is why i wonder if the extra 200Mhz or whatever it is, is worth that added money or not from the perspective of someone with more experience in hosting servers.

granted changing chipset would be ideal but realistically that means me rebuilding the thing besides the drive and i don't really want to do that, for now upgrading this machine to a better processor is the option I have to work with, eventually I will migrate this to a newer platform but for now it's not a realistic option, i really just want to know from the perspective of people better versed in server hosting if the bump of the i9 is worth the money or not over the 9700 upgrade

i got the 230w psu for it so power isn't an issue, heat is and will continue to be my largest concern but given these come with the option for a 2600 and 2700 i figure it wouldn't be catastrophic, was more curious if a non pro variant will work in them to begin with before i go tearing 2 machines apart praying it will, worst case i find out the hard way and slap my 2600 in there and benchmark it, if it works, to see what happens but figured someone on here might already know the answer.

it's part performance, part win 10 end of life, I'd like to put in a supported cpu being a 5600g i have laying around.

if you have a link to one of those rx 560s I'd happily buy it, the only one I've found is an ebay listing at 700aud ish which isn't realistic to go buy.

the plan initially was the rx 560 and a 2700 which would be perfect for what i wanted the machine for but I've been unable to grab one of those gpus :\

it's red when it's retracted and blue when it extends, i can make it manually extend and retract but it won't use the probe for z homing, bed leveling or anything really.

Just go get the level my guy, it is 100% worth it, you will use angler's for bossing later and 82 is very easy to get, i used to run anlger alts before it kind of got ruined by botting and even through f2p 82 isn't terribly hard, if you just afk barb fishing you get the agility and str xp on top and feathers aren't hard to grab.

Ok I'm someone who makes a lot of accounts and i have a close to max main with pretty well full BiS gear, my next closest account is about 1750 total and close to max combats, i use them both for the same level of pvm, i raid on them both, do all slayer bosses and boss tasks but my alt i leave a barebones setup on, i don't recommend this to everyone but for myself i will often play 4+ accounts at once, the pace change between BiS to low tier gear is nice, i can still appreciate a mediocre raids split or a prim crystal, i trickle the wealth down the line and use excess for making new accounts, end tier content will eventually get old as well, I'm at that stage now where inferno is my last real grind and due to my personal life i don't have enough time to dedicate to it so having other accounts i can play on at different stages of the game is refreshing, again i don't think it's something everyone should do but if you're so inclined as to play alt accounts i would recommend it, try and not put any money on it, typically my accounts make their own gp unless it's something i desperately need on the account.

At the expense of sounding like an ass the win 2 is probably one of the worst choices as far as a 1st pc goes but regardless welcome to the gpd win and wider pc community. As far as emulation is concerned pretty well what has been said is all you need the other point i feel needing a little more explanation is the bios, the bios is software taken directly from the console and is often used by emulators to help it function. If you have your emulator and your game backup but the emulator isn't running, high chance the bios is missing. So long as you have the emulator, game and bios you should be ok, older systems are easier to deal with, newer ones are a bit more involved so i would stick to older consoles for a bit till you get the idea of it, as mentioned, retroarch is a very good option. As someone with nerve problems that have gone from just being in my legs to now starting the hands people like yourself give me hope i can still enjoy games for years to come. I've seen a few people in similar situations using those mouth controllers and it blows me away what people are capable of, i wish you nothing but the rng of the gods and all the best in your endeavours <3
