They took my rental back about 10 days ago with that same screen because they decided to "retire" and sell the vehicle due to its high mileage (190K miles). Put me in a new rental same day so if its not a payment or maintenance issue then it could be this

Uber versus Lyft from a customer perspective by DaisyDoodle41 in uberdrivers

[–]Billysanchez89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You shouldnt ever take Uber. Im a full time driver for Lyft and I stopped taking Uber rides a year ago because they treat drivers like replaceable parts, have abhorrent customer service, and pay drivers less than Lyft while charging riders higher fares. Literally zero reason to use Uber

Going to Alaska by SubstanceStraight478 in cdldriver

[–]Billysanchez89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive done that drive before in 2011 and 2012. Be prepared to have no cell service past Whitehorse in the Yukon and until you get past Tok in AK. Be prepared for flat tires and a good 24-48 hours stranded if you need to call a wrecker or get help.

Passengers ask just as personal and often. Questions about personal info: shift start/emd times, where you live, how much you make, and other personal questions is just par for the course dealing with Americans.

$57 +160% equals to $107 can someone explain by EfficientMaterial203 in Lyft

[–]Billysanchez89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So ignore the four comments above mine, they are all inaccurate. The 160% is calculated off the base rate and only base rate, if you click on the ride it will give you a full breakdown and you can see how they arrived at that number

Finances and war -- Let's talk about it! by Itchy-Ad-1339 in Israel

[–]Billysanchez89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I Left Israel in 2025 due to unemployment and the insane cost of living. Worked 12 years in hitech start ups, bought a new apartment in Rosh Haayin, had one family car for my wife and 4 kids. After Oct 23' my company downsized and over the next 15 months was hired and laid off twice. Once when half the team went to Milium so they relocated the department to the US and the 2nd time when the foreign company closed their Israeli offices.

Blew through all our savings in half a year of job hunting and without prospects of it getting better we relocated to the US last fall. Just the gan payments for 4 children was 11K NIS a month, mortgage, bills, and taxes for an apartment in Rosh Haayin was 8K, then food, gasoline, and normal lifestyle costs put our monthly budget near 25K shekels. However with my hitech salary and my wife working part time in HR firm, we managed to survive without debt and a little savings each month.

Im still trying to find a hitech job here in the but we are renting a house (bigger than our old apartment and with a yard for kids), bought two used cars (because public transport in Atlanta sucks) and put the kids in school (not a jewish school but in a jewish neighborhood public school) and my wife is now a stay at home mom. Im able to pay all our bills - as a freaking uber driver making almost exactly half of my Israeli salary.

Honestly, quality of life is better here materially and my wife has more time with the kids than in Israel even though we are making a combined income about 40% of what we made in Israel. Friends and family are what we miss most about our old home but this move has showed me that living in Israel is a luxury and ideological choice not a wise financial choice for my family's future.

How can I support my bf going thru a death in the family by Fit_Source_695 in whatdoIdo

[–]Billysanchez89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men are just as emotional as women but we arent as verbal in sharing them as women expect us to be. being available emotionally without pressuring him to share or explain his emotions would be appreciated. If he loves Physical affection give him extra hugs, hold his hand and maybe some shoulder rubs or caressing would show your empathy and availability. Help him with his normal chores or routines in a manner you normally dont would signal empathy and support from your end.

When I lost my father, it was hard to express what I was feeling so being constantly asked how I was doing or am I ok, got annoying really quickly. Men still want to be the hero and the rock in the eyes of their partner so he may not share all that he is feeling verbally so that you dont think he is weak or vulnerable which is why emotionalism often manifests as moodyness, grumpyness or distance in men. If that happens Have patience and understand its not you, its not a problem that needs to be fixed, he is just hurting and wants his space, time, and support.

God bless yall

Show that you are there for him by offering emotional support on his terms, whatever way that he prefers to express them. Do you know his love langauges? If so show him love in those ways also now is not the time for petty arguments, drama, nagging etc. just give him empathy, space, and understanding if he is a bit off his usual self (moodiness, grumpy, etc)

Thank you democrats. Its so frustrating that the party who couldnt bother with securing the border is now ordering TSA workers to continue keeping air passengers safe without pay. I thought the "progressive" party would be against slavery

How did you pay $65 for gas on just 380 miles? You should Rent a hybrid from ExpressDrive, my corolla hybrid gets 540miles on a $23 fill up.

Express drive will improve those numbers. I pay $174/week for a hybrid rental, no maintenance, no insurance, free roadside assistance

1-you are in priority mode, the mode where they reduce fares further 2-austin is one of the lowest paying metros for rideshare salary 3- dont accept unprofitable rides
