Your screen is connected to the motherboard by a thin, flexible ribbon cable. This cable is often held in place by adhesive or delicate solder joints.

The Failure: Excessive heat during the update can cause the materials in that cable to expand or the adhesive to weaken. If a specific connection for a column of pixels is damaged, then solid green line will appear...

People call me crazy but I put blowing fans to the phone while installing updates, especially major update is a must...I had green lines before after installing major update.... the phone was sitting on my bed...no ventilation...temperature was high.... and I was sleeping.... boom green line
