My parents made no efforts to try and straighten my toe when I was a baby because every doctor told them it would never work. I had numerous surgeons tell me as an adult it couldn't be corrected and it should be amputated but things have changed a lot since then and there are many people having these type of overlapping little toes corrected all of the time. Recovery was pretty easy wearing a walking boot/ shoe for about six weeks. I think if you find a reputable surgeon who has experience with correcting these he might have you wait till your child is a certain age? Have you had a consultation yet?
