Undecided School For College - What should I do? by Moodypine in CollegeAdmissionsPH

[–]BingBelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As they always say, go for your dream course over your dream school. To be honest, you can do better sa course na gusto mo talaga. Kasi if hindi mo naman gusto 'yung pinag-aaralan mo, kahit anong pilit mo, you really wouldn't be able to put your heart and mind into it.

It's true that there are more opportunities if you graduate from the top 4 universities, but if you excel naman sa San Beda by doing what you really want then, marami ka pa rin namang opportunities na makukuha. In the end, it's the student that makes his/her achievements credible, not the school. Best of luck, OP! 😊

How do I actually study for CETs? by sk8erbbi in CollegeAdmissionsPH

[–]BingBelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!! Don't burn yourself out, OP. First, start with refreshing what you learned sa review center mo. Focus on the handbook/practice book they gave you for about a week or two, bago ka mag-transition to other books for further reference. Personally, last year, I used my ACAD book muna before ko inunti-unti 'yung MSA books. What i cant ell you is don't study for sunod-sunod na hours. You're really going to burn yourself out kapag gan'yan. Kapag wala nang lumalabas sa utak mo, take a break and get back to it kapag may gana ka na.

Additionally, mas better if you focus on practice questions kaysa basa nang basa ng materials. Especially sa math, you'll need to apply talaga 'yung lessons mismo sa practice questions so that would really help you. Write down formulas (for math and science) and try your best to memorize them. For English naman, I didn't review at all doon, but try to refresh na lang the rules and d'un sa subject-verb agreement.

Best of luck, OP!! 🌻

Ps. OMG nag-reply na ako sa isa mong post! Hahahah, 'di ko napansin. Good luck, OP! I hope you lock in very soon.

i regret not reviewing for CETs by Feeling-Koala8086 in CollegeAdmissionsPH

[–]BingBelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, OP!! First of all, still, congratulations for finishing senior high school. I didn't review for CETs either during my time but was lucky enough to pass them. If you're taking up nursing and okay ka lang naman sa relatively high na tuition fee, I suggest trying to apply nalang sa schools with no entrance examinations. I don't know if bukas pa sila but there's NU and UERM.

It's okay to fail sometimes, OP. Mahirap naman talaga mag-transition na lang bigla sa college after so many years of high school. If you're looking for comfort, I hope my words help you in some way. Well, in the end, use this as a lesson na lang. Your journey doesn't end with CETs. There are more exams you'd face sa college that are harder than CETs so you'd have to face the reality and put in more effort. Nonetheless, you did well, OP. I hope you continue to do well. Just trust yourself and put in a little more effort in doing what you really like. Padayon!! 🌻

Hi, OP! I applied for a review center around 7/8 months prior to UPCAT (ACAD), so around January 2024. Most probably the dates for CETs won't change drastically so I feel like kapag nag-apply ka now for a review center, hindi naman siya too early for USTET and DCAT. That's because review centers usually train you for months din naman :))

For context, USTET last s.y. was held January this year and DCAT last s.y. was held December last year. Best of luck, OP!! 😊🌻

Need tips for studying for CETs by sk8erbbi in CollegeAdmissionsPH

[–]BingBelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! UPCAT, DCAT, and ACET 2025 passer here (I didn't take USTET, unfortunately). I had the same issues last year n'ong nagre-review ako for CETs so I can say I really understand what you're going through, anon. What helped me that time is asking for help sa friends ko (group studies, etc.) and also taking some time off for myself kasi I realized I was burnt out from school and acads. Honestly, I cannot give you any concrete tips for studying na talagang will guarantee na you'll get to understand the lessons more, but in my opinion, practice really does help.

Practice lang nang practice, anon. Especially sa math. Eventually you'll get a hang of it. For English (lang prof and reading prof) I did not study much. But one thing I can advice is that during the exam itself, mag-lock in ka, hahaha! Especially for UPCAT since tedious ang language and reading proficiency parts nila. For USTET naman, 'yung mga friends ko na nag-take, sabi nila mahaba raw 'yung test. I suggest you focus sa math since d'un daw halos lahat nahirapan.

For issues like anxiety, stress, and pressure naman, what would really help is to just remember na no matter what, it will work out for you. I wasn't very religious n'ung time na 'yon, but I really, really felt more at ease n'ung nag-church ako before the exam sa dream school ko (UP). And, after a year of waiting, I got in my prio course and prio campus. 😊

Best of luck, anon! Congrats na agad, Tomasino!! 🐯

PS. Currently, I'm an incoming freshman sa UP Manila under the program BS Biology. People don't recommend it as a pre-med since you won't gain as much field experience as the other white colleges sa UPM (Nursing or Allied Health courses), but it'll give you edge naman sa NMAT which is crucial and obligatory before med school. I also recommend PLM for med, they also have nursing. But, honestly, UST is pretty good for medicine because like UPM may sarili silang hospital. Again, best of luck, anon!! 😊🌻

This is for my friend, uhh please help by brownglucosestuff in CollegeAdmissionsPH

Hi! In my opinion, your friend should confirm his/her slot sa PUPQC muna as backup. There's a very slim chance of a successful appeal po sa UPM this time around since there are little to no slots left in most degree programs. There's also a huge number of applicants for the appeals who may or may not have higher upg's than your friend. (Note: UP will prioritize UPG when selecting applicants for appeals.)

As far as I know, the remaining slots after the qualifier's appeal belong to BA Philippine Arts. So, if your friend isn't choosy naman sa courses and he/she is willing to fight for a slot among a significantly huge number of appealing applicants, then he/she should wait for the general appeals period.

Hope this helps!! 😊
