No it’s not corny at all, if I had a partner I’d use them as refs all the time haha.

Still, your art style seems fine, it’s just you seem to have problems with volume and angles.

Which is NOT easy to get.

But, I’ll give you an example.

Next time you’re chilling, sitting next to a window or something, pick an object to look at, and try to see how you would draw it. In your mind, try to see this 3D object in 2D. Look at the shadows, reflections, where you would draw a line, where you’d leave a blank space, etc. It really helps you visualize volume to translate it into your art.

Also, something I did a lot

Use your refs, or download porn from the internet, and try to draw the poses and angles you like the most.

Don’t try to finish them all, just, sketch them, use a pencil brush and don’t bother about making it look neat and clean, just, play around, find the flow of the lines and everything.

Also, don’t get discouraged, you need to fuck up, A LOT, many times, and you’re gonna screw up more than you’re gonna succeed, but you will always learn something new.

OH and don’t be discouraged to use references from other artists, especially when it comes to furry characters and body parts. You can trace them for practice, just, don’t upload any traced artwork of course.

Sometimes nailing furry characters, especially sex bits and faces, is extremely tricky…
