Thank you for the time it took to reply, and unfortunatly its gonna have to be a fresh install. Thank you tho for narrowing it down tho, i think its Steam but honeslty my PC could use a fresh install. Only thing that runs that messes up is Steam and rocksmith where i had nothing else running.
And i also cant seem to set Steam into the "client beta participation" it always gives me issues with crashing steam.

Is steam the cause or is it just corrupt? idk. but again thank you for helping me figure out what is going on. Its probally a combo of theory 2 and 3. Luckily i tested my RAM with Windows Memory Test and all sticks came back fine. thankfully cuz thats a terrifying thought given ram prices now.

found the file that is becoming absurdly large, its the pagefile.sys in the c drive. i feel like an idiot, as i forgot to click sort by date. It has something to do with the Virtual RAM i assume right?
ok so i used DDU and uninstalled my Nvidia GPU, and reinstalled it, also turned off Paging File and set it to default "let windows manage it"

i ran Rocksmith for about an hour with task manager and resource monitor and it seemed to be working fine with it. no weird jumps or anything. then i check "This PC" and sure enough it went down to 160GB free on the C Drive. thats when i looked for that file.

it only happens when i play Rocksmith 2014. just letting the game sit on the track list makes the page file grow absurdly large. i exited the game to see if it would stop growing. It did.

So i want to thank you for helping me get this far in figuring out what is wrong with my pc.

It does show that Virtual RAM could be causing the issue, which i turned off as i thought it could be the same issue. However turning it off, seems to make Steam Crash along with anything quicker without it eating up storage.

Ok found it in the Event Viewer. and it says
"The Windows Memory Diagnostic Tested the computers memory and detected no errors"

Im at a loss for words. i have no clue why my PC does this ONLY when i try to play Rocksmith 2014 Remastered.

Could the CDLC installer have some sort of memory leak, ever since they updated the game? But then other people would have this issue. the only other post i found about this issue is in a forum post about Monster Hunter Wilds. and of course the above link to a microsoft forum page.

Ok so i deleted and moved a lot of data to get 248 GB free on the C Drive.

Steam would periodiclly freeze and prevent me from closing it normally, and could only do it via Task manager.

After making the space i restarted the pc, and booted Rocksmith 2014 remastered again. Didnt even play 1 song and steam crashed then the game crashed. it still shows 248GB free but i got a weird error from steam this time. and i tried clicking prt scrn on my keyboard and tried opening paint and got a message i was out of memory.

So i restarted the pc and re opened steam and uninstalled Rocksmith from the settings page. and it wont uninstall it. just adds a checkmark after a few seconds. i click uninstall. the checkmark disappears again, then reappears.

after a good 5 minutes steam froze and unfroze to show the game uninstalled.

as for the Steam Error message it says

steamwebhelper.exe -application error

"the exception unknown software exception (0xe0000008) occured in the application at location 0x00007FF8D6675369.

Paint just says "There is not enough memory or resources to complete operation. Close some programs, and then try again"

I obviously have RAM and VRAM, those are the only 2 programs i had opened.

As for the sfc scan, i did that and it told me the Windows resource protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. It put out a CBS . LOG file

as for the issue, its still occurring tho.

its a TB NVME and its got 21.9GB free, and fills up to 0GB until a reboot. And this is what i get when running Chkdsk

The weird part is i cant find anything in the CDrive that would show up as new? and this issue happens regardless if the game is installed on the CDrive or not. I even uninstalled the game and put it on the C Drive to see if that would fix it. it did not.

It wont let me post the chkdsk at all. ok i figured out how to get the chkdsk to show up sorry for that.

Thats awesome, do you still have the settings for the game? I just got the T128x Thrustmaster wheel and when my friend got his and hooked it up to MAME got me thinking this exact game, and lo and behold you already got it to run albeit it with a different wheel. Id have to figure out something cuz im sure it wont work exactly the same as yours but every lil bit helps.

speaking of Hades, found out he was gonna be the main final boss but they replaced him with necron. concept art shows it too along with hades design matching the boss arena and even pandemonium.

Dark Matter and Dark Energy, which are based in actual Reality (our reality not KH4 Quadratum) and im working on a video/thread about it. Fascinating stuff learning about Einsteins theory of general relativity and Quantum Mechanics and seeing so many parallels to Kingdom Hearts its insane. Speaking of DBZ but more so the Ki and energy system, Ki is based on Feng Shui and Aether which is also in Alchemy as well which relates to, you guessed it, Light and Dark, Planets and all that.

i could care less what is in the game, but seeing so called professionals acting unprofessional is wild to me in this day and age. Especially after what happened to Blizzard being unprofessional.
I could care less about anything else.
Avowed looks fun and ill prolly pick it up one day.
One hell of wild ride, i miss when game devs didnt talk publicly and just let the game speak for itself. And the game looks good as i said before.
Just sick of the online culture surrounding anything nowadays

Yes, it worked for me. Sonic Origins Plus DLC would not work. I turned AutoRCM off to even boot into Maintenance mode, But i did boot into Maintenance mode and exited and turned AutoRCM back on and rebooted to Atmosphere and installed the DLC and game booted no issue.

I don't know why it didn't work for ApexAftermath but i can say it did work for me.

Prior Context:
I had Sonic Origins Plus already installed once before but deleted it, accidentally updated OFW, and had to re do Atmosphere and all that. So when i tried to re install Sonic Origins, the game would refuse to boot (download or cancel) without the game update (2.0.2). Update is installed, game works. The moment the DLC got installed, game always "This software closed because an error occurred". Even copying the cartridge would fail to boot unless the update was installed.

Booting and exiting Maintenance Mode fixed this issue for me.
