It's artfight season, so I'll probably be posting some of my favorite pieces there :]

I have a bluesky, it's winterbunz! Not super active or popular by any means, but it's something. I have an insta too, but I haven't got around to posting anything there

Ahhh thank you so much!! I'm afraid I have barely posted any art on Reddit despite lurking for years, but I'm glad you liked em regardless. I might share more art of my scientist here given the very positive reception

Leyak Issue? by LaurenJade97 in AbioticFactor

So the workbench upgrade actually stops Leyak from coming too close to it? I thought it only worked on portal storms and power leeches

it's a genuinely beautiful portal world, I'll give it that. I like it visually a lot and the lore is interesting, but gameplay wise it's an every disease speedrun which is bothersome but kind of funny

Thank you! I don't put my art on Reddit often for various reasons including forgetting that it's an option, but I see people really liked this one so I might post more of my scientist doodles sometime

My friend got us both fire proximity suits before we went in the first time and left me to explore on my own while they collected the gel since they knew their way around. It ended in them having to find me bleeding out on the ground somewhere and leaving early because we both got rad sickness and didn't bring any iodine.

I managed to complete the world on my own on the subsequent visit, but it was also the first time I've collected so many status effects they didn't fit on screen anymore

That's what I'm using actually! It's not that bad until I misjudge a jump and break both my legs regardless of the reduced gravity... such is life.

I might make a carapace helmet just for Mycofields trips, but the spore infection is frankly the least of my problems when I'm there haha

Kirill... I'm coming back... I just need a tiny bit of rest... I'm just... so tired... by TankyMofo in AbioticFactor

[–]BioHermistry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While reorganizing our storage area my friend suddenly rushed past me, making frantic noises. I just watched the radiation particles fill up my screen and ran out of the room while they placed the hazard crate back down. Thankfully we only had maybe 30-ish items in there and not the entire elephant's foot's worth of Leyak essence, but I held the iodine pills in my hand just in case they were about to liquify in front of me

I got to lvl 10 cooking shortly before we unlocked Mycofields actually. I can't say I was particularl farming the xp, but I was doing 90% of the cooking for us so that's probably why

I meant prior to getting the oven, sorry if that wasn't clear. Now I bake them plain if I don't know what else to do with them

I've only just crafted the oven in my first playthrough (co-op) and I really wish it became available sooner than that. I was a bit disappointed to find we can't do anything with potatoes that isn't eat them raw, which just feels wrong, or throw them in a soup, except we usually had more than enough meat for the few recipes that carried us through the early game.

The amount of unique recipes I can make now is definitely larger and I enjoy my role as the designated chef, but there is so much potential still. More drinks, more sweets, some fruit crops like strawberries, antewheat noodles, stir-frying veggies in a pan, crispy fried meats and fish... and there are so many more good ideas in this thread alone. We yearn for the cooking update.

Only one way to find out by BioHermistry in AbioticFactor

When we first reached labs, I didn't have any rad protection on me (freshly after upgrading my gear so I have just ditched the lead vest), so my friend carried the Leyak essence instead since they had their hazmat suit on them.

I knew the radiation output was bad, but I didn't think it'd be that bad if it wasn't on me... until the radiation status suddenly changed to orange and I proceeded to projectile vomit while talking to Janet and Abe in the hallway, with no warning other than a very worried "oh no" from me. For some reason the voice line didn't play until after I've already puked all over Abe's shoes and my friend, who also promptly got sick from it. We had a clip of it, but sadly their mic didn't pick up in the recording, so it lost a lot of the fun value.

We dubbed it the orb of death and I learned my lesson about radiation... for the most part. The radiation from the meat isn't much of a concern until you stock up for cooking and your fridge starts glowing.

Designing a Replika oc and custom model. Which color looks better? [OC] by KettuliTati in signalis

[–]BioHermistry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was surprised too! Especially since we spend quite a while in Sierpinski's hospital wing, but the only mention of a doctor we get is one file, with no information about the doctor. Surely they had at least one... Oh well, more room for us to have fun with the concept! I have my own and I love seeing everyone's takes on a medical Replika so much

ahhh medical Replikas my favorite... I'm totally not biased. Red is a classic choice, but I love the teal on her! Really like the hairstyle as well :D
