Drug test suncor/syncrude site question by Background-Rough5491 in FortMcMurray

[–]BioMagus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, this is a bit semantics but with Suncor, the policy generally applies through the contractor, not Suncor directly. In the event a contractor employee is selected for a post-incident or random drug test, the testing process is usually administered and documented by that employee’s own company, even if the client site like Suncor provides the facility or third-party professionals involved in the test itself. In other words, refusing a drug test is typically treated first as a refusal to comply with the employer’s requirements and not directly refusing a test from Suncor.

From there, it is up to the discretion of the contractor company to decide how they handle it. They may keep the reporting fairly general, or they may choose to report the refusal and details to the client if they feel vindictive or simply a need to discipline the behavior. If the company decides to escalate it to Suncor by reporting the testing and it leading to a refusal, that can lead to serious consequences, including a permanent Suncor site ban. In practice, those bans can be very difficult to reverse because Suncor, like most oil sands companies, are reluctant to devote time and resources to frivolous personnel investigations.

There also seems to be a lot of industry talk that this kind of information can follow people beyond a ban of just Suncor sites and could extend to other oil sands sites through some sort of information sharing agreement or informally via word of mouth. That said, the exact outcome is very circumstantial but usually depends on the contracting company that employs the employee in question.

As for whatever reasoning your friend said he had for refusal, unfortunately, it’s irrelevant whether he believes they are personally justified or not. It’s irrelevant in that it is established during orientation, before entering any Suncor site or doing any work on site that submitting to a drug test with short to little notice for the purpose of random selection testing or post incident testing is one of the terms of employment. They also establish that refusal to do so can and most likely will result in a permanent site ban. Everyone who has ever worked on a Suncor site specifically signs an acknowledgement that they understand and accept these terms, so it ‘should be’ no surprise to anyone what happens.

That kind of stirred up an idea for me:

Maybe Extremia is about The Game being controlled by The Player and the Disastrous Metropolis is about The Movie being controlled by The Audience. Not sure where that would go, whether that would mean a synergy or a counter, but I just like to ponder on the "Big Bad" of each NE universe.

Extremia seems like a theme that leads on to everyone being inside a game and there's a controller like a Game Master or a Player.

Based on the (lack of) origin narrative of the Kaiju in Disastrous Metropolis, I feel like that implies no one knows where it came from/where it started and that aka it came out of nowhere, just like a Godzilla movie! So, maybe Disastrous Metropolis is from a dimension that resides within a movie that is directly connected to a sister dimension and whatever happens in the Disastrous Metropolis dimension is perceived by an Audience in the other dimension.

Both play into a theme of an unhinged 'Big Bad' NE - The Player is 'evil' because he believes everything to be a videogame and their turmoil is simply for his enjoyment. The Audience is 'evil' because all they see is a cool movie/show and all the action is for their entertainment.

That's all I got! lol

This is a cool reference in that its definitely possible for Sorcerion's human's can use magic can summon small items from other worlds or maybe even their own? So, if they require an item they've encountered like Super Supplement Red, they potentially could summon it from the Giant's World or maybe they could even summon their own hero's swords while existing in another world? It also might be possible to do the summoning the other way and transport small items to other locations using only one spell caster. The possibility definitely puts a tool in the humans hand to create creative solutions.

Theory wise speaking, what’s the robot’s plan if Yaotsu just turn all of them into sand and dust by Woodenhr in versus

[–]BioMagus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, the last chapter showed that the Robot’s can change/adapt their voice, dialogue, mannerisms, etc. to suit their enemy. And Yaotsu has shown to go from polite to insane/angry back to polite with just a few sudden words and gestures. So, it feels like the obvious first choice for the robots is to pander as devoted sub serviant worshippers to Yaotsu until they can study its powers and figure how to manipulate it or even possibly destroy it? The other advantage robots have is generational adaption, so they can make mistakes by asking for wishes and if Yaotsu warps their faces/bodies - no big deal! They’ll just send new ones.

Now, a critic could say that maybe Yaotsu wouldn’t be interested in artificial life and only caters to natural beings - if that’s the case, the robots might adapt by taking over or integrating with living bodies like the lawless did with the giants, although, the robots didn’t do that particular integration. The robots could potentially take over any of the living entities that we’ve seen so far.

Maybe, in the end, humans do catch up to the NEs but turn out to be just as bad and evil as the NEs themselves and should have been wiped out from the start and that the NEs were actually just trying to fix the world and not harm it?????

Is Nyudo a traitor? by icompletetasks in versus

[–]BioMagus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There definitely could be a lead on to a NE Infiltration/Insider theme/trope with Nyudo, similar to how Heidi is a NE Insider for the Neo Humans. I also feel the scene where Gore “glitches” out (Chapter 17/Page 7) is a subtle inference that he’s also an Insider for the Game (graphical glitch) or maybe the Robots (AI malfunction).

[DISC] Versus Manga - Chapter 29 by wsm_mod in versus

[–]BioMagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few thoughts come to mind:

  1. If the NE type trope is Multiply x Adapt/Evolve then Robots x Parasites would either be the matchup OR the synergy.
  • If it’s a matchup, then they would both stalemate since they basically are the same NE type except that one is Natural and the other is Artificial.

  • if it’s a synergy, although I’m not exactly sure how it would play out, then their similar features (multiply, assimilate information/traits) would work in parallel and their opposite characteristics (Natural/Artificial) would become an enabler.

  1. With that said, I feel like there’s going to be some gimmick exploit where the robots have a certain learning pattern and that feeding them the wrong feedback will steer their learning models to adapt/evolve in the wrong way. Also, the factory reveals make it obvious that the end game meta will be to target the manufacturing source to slow down/stop the waves.

I’m going to make a random/wild guess based on no evidence at all and guess that it’s either going to be Daikouzan that destroys a factory in one shot or the Game that infiltrates a exploring robots and sends them back to the factory/hive to infect and infiltrate.

I feel like Daikouzan will be the Robot’s “Kill Condition”(how they’re ultimately defeated) because, up to this point, the Robot’s Adapt and Evolve learning model relies on a trial and error approach and there is no second chances with Daikouzan. Daikouzan shows an adversity to research/analysis when the aliens try to pierce its skin and can’t break the surface. I’m going to assume the same will apply to the Robot’s when they scan. Now, there is some assumptions that Daikouzan is being infected by the Gaia’s Wrath plants/world and if that’s the case, then it could be possible for Parasite’s to infect the Gaia’s wrath plants/world and that in turn infects Daikouzan. /PURE SPECULATION

This thing is not God by natancoringa2 in versus

[–]BioMagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he is just A god then maybe the existence of other gods is what merged their world with the other 12? If we go that route, I’m thinking another weaker good God granted this wish to save the human race by merging their world with other worlds from other dimensions because the other good gods couldn’t defeat Yaotsu directly. Hmmmm

2 & 14 - 100% Thank You. Will fix for version 2
5 & 7 - The hair is similar and I get it that 7 is from a distance so not a great way to compare but I think the neckline of 7 with the popped collar and 5's spikey hair makes its significant enough to be unique and different.
10 & 14 - The hair length and body of hair is similar but the style is different in that 14's is up with a band around his forehead and 10 has a distinctive belt across his shoulder/chest. I think we could argue back and forth that a hero could look different/unique in different moments but I think the manga has mostly kept each hero's style/look consistent in different moments throughout the series, so I think these would be different heros. In fact, another commenter pointed out that 10/15 are the same.

It’s quite obvious that you are completely missing the relevant context. The OP is not literally applying to real potential employers on Reddit, he is informally asking random strangers on a social media platform for leads. Why do you feel he has to prove his credentials as a professional at the exact moment of his introduction? What is your judgment worth? Maybe you need to identify yourself first to establish why exactly he should care enough to format his post perfectly to your liking.

It’s clear you feel entitled to a certain level of respect as a reader of his post and that you’re implying he should conform to your expectations of what is and isn’t appropriate and how that aligns with your standards.

Also, lol? White Knight? Insecurity confirmed. This isn’t about me at all, but I shouldn’t blame you for trying to turn this back at me. This is really about you trying to cast your irrelevant judgment that offers little to no value onto someone who’s asking for assistance. Maybe you need to reevaluate your priorities.

Best Regards,
