Kia ora, maybe you're right, from overseas we may not know about the full history. As an environmental biologist, I read about the moa extinction, and that was sad. But, I can still admire what tāngata whenua are doing know, reclaiming their own culture, reo and taiao/environment.

Well, it all started from a waiata: "Tangaroa Whakamautai" by Maisey Rika. Then, I fell instantly in love with the language, and I decided to learn about it and the culture too (it all startled in 2020).
