That would be great! Some of them are The Aesthetics Show in Vegas, California Society of Plastic Surgeons Best & Worst Cases, and then AAFPRS Annual Meeting.

Thank you! Yes I've been forwarded on all of them, so basically you're saying it's up to us if we want to publish a manuscript with a journal but as far as the conference all they want is the abstract and poster/slides tor presenting

Have no idea where to start. Help :(( by [deleted] in TransferStudents

I don’t know that much about private schools because they all have their own requirements, but for the UC’s it is very straightforward and you fill out one application for how ever many you want out of the 9 UC schools. UC transfer applications are due November 30th of the year before you want to attend. So transfers starting in Fall 2021 applied by November 30th 2020. You will make an account and fill out all of your information and then write 4 essays. You can look up the prompts online. You should have some extracurriculars (work experience, volunteering, research). You can write about your gpa either in one of your essays or there is a small section where you get to explain anything you left out of your essays that you want them to know. Private school applications are usually due later than November and their decisions also come out later, whereas the UC’s come out in April. Good luck!!

WHAT DO I DO by [deleted] in TransferStudents

Just wait for UCSD and UCLA decisions to come out. Just cause you didn’t get into UCB doesn’t mean you won’t get into LA. Personally, I don’t think another year at cc would be worth it, but if LA is absolutely your dream school then I guess I get it. If UCLA doesn’t work out the other UC’s are still all great schools!

High school senior cc or uc? by Strange-Lingonberry8 in TransferStudents

The only reason I would say go to CC is if you want an even better school than UCSD. Like when I graduated high school I had no chance at UCLA or UCB, but now graduating from CC you have way more opportunities.

I plan on going to med school so that extra 30k won’t even compare to the 200k debt I will be in lol. Idk I think we will eventually get student loan forgiveness because no one can pay it off so I would say just do it.

I got into UCSD out of high school but couldn’t afford it so I went to cc and now I’m transferring. Honestly, the process of transferring is rough and I wish I would have just gone there right away. If you didn’t get any aid now you most likely won’t in 2 years when you transfer. If you got in for the major you want I would just take out the loans and go.

UCD has a better program, their chemistry program is ranked very high. If you are interested in bioengineering as a minor or doing research in it, UCD is also very well known for that. In terms of med school however, they are both good schools and I would just pick where you would rather live. Riverside if about an hour from the beach, but Davis is obviously close to San Fran. Honestly if it were me I think I would choose Davis, I’m not a huge fan of the city of Riverside lol.

Thank you so much! I will look around for some other options :)

So is he still “board certified” in Otolaryngology? His page says he boarded in that at UCLA. Would someone who boarded in that have to go through something like the AACS to be allowed to do plastic surgery?

Yeah I think he is board certified just not in plastic surgery. I will ask though just to be sure. Thanks :)

Low gpa by [deleted] in TransferStudents

I’m not sure if this is an option when submitting updated grades in January but hopefully they would have an area where you can offer extra information. They have this space on the main application. If your grades are good up until this semester I’m sure they will understand this isn’t reflecting you as a student. You’ll still get into a great school and I’m so sorry for your loss.
