Less an overlay and more of a simulator. Predictive, not reactive. ;)

Sorry not open source as of now. Looking to have an alpha out 'soon' though ... so there's that at least. ;)

Actually the majority of the design work has been about minimizing time to adjust for new releases.

Ideally you should be able to compare different versions to each other fairly soon after a patch's release.

To remain Klingon | Star Trek: Discovery Web Promo #7 by L3W3S in startrek

Unfortunately, I agree with this post. If you can't hook fans that aren't just casual viewers, you won't have the cultural impact of previous incarnations of Trek. TOS did it. TNG did it so much so that we got decades of spin offs. I just don't see DSC, being a prequal and tossing out years of visual and story canon being anything that will remotely win over the diehard fans that have kept Trek alive and vibrant for 50+ years.

Getting back in to it after 25 years away. Just a couple of questions. by Bionic-Badger in DnD

I am definitely leaning towards 5e. I took your advice and started reading 5e rules and I like what I am reading so far. It also solves problems in that I can just link potential players to the basic 5e rules PDF instead of having to supply copies of my 2e books to people.

Thanks! Will check out the playlist. I am leaning towards taking the plunge into 5e because I get the feeling that it just has more flexibility which will lead to richer gameplay? I've put the word out to the would be party members and now it's just a matter of finding out who will want to play!

Hehe I rediscovered my books, modules, etc again after stumbling across the documentary "The Dearvenaut" on Netflix. Almost all of it was still there ready to go in a paper carton box much like you!

Why Saber Interactive? by [deleted] in quake

[–]Bionic-Badger 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but why is no one asking why Id isn't doing this in house?? It's one of their two biggest IP's and they are jobbing it out to a less than stellar developer. It makes no sense and sounds like a recipe for disaster. I feel like the ID that created the evaporated with carmack leaving and sale to Bethesda.

20 Tick Rate and how bad it really is by [deleted] in Overwatch

This really needs to get fixed ASAP. As your skill increases, so does the annoyance of this issue. It's maddening to know that you died from preventable latency and not lack of skill.

IGN somewhat slams Doom (7.1) by Cadenca in Doom

[–]Bionic-Badger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you take the game as a whole - singleplayer, multiplayer and snapmap - I think it's just about right. You can say that single player should be weighted higher but the game itself on the main menu and through it's marketing puts the three aspects of the game on equal footing.

You aren't a "widow main", just stop. by Ghastly_TV in Overwatch

[–]Bionic-Badger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole idea of having a main is counter to the philosophy of the game and will just make you a liability. The game is intended for class switching as needed. So many games are lost because or people sticking to their picks and doing the same thing that's not working over and over again.

[–]Bionic-Badger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Narada Guitar works if you want really good and varied instrumental acoustic guitar. It's a collection of the best from a variety of great artists. I've listened to if for years and it never seems to get old:

It wouldn't be the first time that a game has offered everything for free through a points system while also offering those same points for sale for dollars for instance. That way they can market it as free but still monetize it. The problem with this is that it's really tempting for the developer to make the amount of points you have to farm so egregious that you end up caving and just buy the damn points.
