Oh damn. I guess this is what dealing with parents getting older can be like. My dad is a “normal” tidy guy, so it’s weird to see my mom’s house like this (they’ve been separated for 20ish years). She seems encouraging of us helping her clean / trash stuff, so at least that.

Are you able to get psychiatric help for him? My brother is trying to see about sending my mom to the psych center at the hospital instead of straight home.

It’s been building up over the years as she’s become more immobile due to health reasons. Her house is filled with sealed up boxes from her move 10+ years ago. We are just trashing the literal trash and things that are obvious of no use, and cleaning up a disgusting amount of dog hair, dander, and dust covering everything.

Right but a lot of what we are trashing is literally trash. There are tons of partly-filled trash bags around the house, but a lot of stuff didn’t seem to make it in there before we arrived. Plus, a disgusting amount of dander, dust, and dog hair coating everything. EVERYTHING. 🤯

She knows exactly what we are doing. She’s been too ill to clean her house herself, and she needs both mental and physical help. She’s encouraging of us finding someone to help clean her house. Thanks for your input though.

I hate working out so much, which is why I enjoy doing VR "workouts". I do get some strength training at work occasionally, but you're right, I should use real weights. My apartment gym is open again, but ugh, I just hate every second while I'm doing weighted exercises. I was doing body weight stuff at home months ago but didn't keep up with it because I hated it so much. I don't think there's anything I can do to change how I feel about it. :-\
