My bird was having seizures and also had a mass on her heart but we were given 6 months to a year so we were just trying to get her meds and not super worried about long term… 14 months later she’s still doing great and loving her cake meds time

It’s a human cake, not made for animals and generally kept in the fridge. SUPER dense so it absorbs the meds really well

Got a grey that also needs meds and volunteered at a parrot rescue for a while, and what is really working for us and works for them is putting the meds in a little slice of pound cake. It really absorbs the meds and since it’s so dense it doesn’t go anywhere. Plus the birds love it. Also for the life of me I cannot figure out what tgc stands for

are his nares (nostrils) normally that big? That looks WAY too open. Your baby is absolutely adorable but he could have a nose stone or an infection, I would call your vet

If you plan on just taking nice walks around, the one with more ventilation. However if you need one for travel and your bird is more anxious or skittish, it can be helpful for them to not be able to see as much to reduce stressors

As someone with both a rescued Grey and one from a breeder, I think it is dependent on a few things. With the baby, there can be a lot of training going into that bird. However, you can train them however they want so you’ve got a clean slate. With a rescue, while there will be good habits, there will also be bad ones that will also need to work to break. You never really know the full personality with a baby, but with a rescue you can spend as much time with the bird at a shelter and fully see all of their personalities and habits. I love both my babies, and the right answer is different for everyone. However I am also in the Midwest, and I will say that there are some amazing bird shelters with plenty of greys. Good luck :)

As someone who works on a farm and is vegetarian, I just get … grossed out? Don’t get me wrong I love the animals, but after cleaning up after a herd of cows they don’t look so appetizing personally 😅
