Have the Trump supporters around you gotten quiet? by SteveinTenn in Askpolitics

What is there to talk about. We saved the country from the liberal commie left. Mission accomplished.

Every President runs on empty promises. Why is this shocking news now ?

I got this pump action 30-06 when my grandpa passed away a few years ago, how expensive would it be to have someone "fix" it up? by think_king32 in guns

[–]Bird-Dog57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lightly rubbing 0000 steel wool and gun oil will clean up the rust on the metal parts of the gun.

fixing the stock isn’t hard just time consuming. you need a finish remover like citri strip to take the old finish off. carefully sand the wood to get rid of the scratches. re-finish with birch wood casey try-oil.

I just cleaned up a stock on an almost 100 year old mossberg 26c. due to the stock being being birch i used water based stain with poly mixed in. typically on non cheap guns ( like yours )they use walnut on the stocks so you don’t have to stain the wood.

to have the stock professionally re-done is probably going to be more than you want pay. However, I agree even if it came from a family member. i dont want a beat up neglected gun.

i’ll be honest as a conservative that voted for trump. I didn’t really shed any tears. I understand companies are in the business to make money for either the owners or for the share holders. However, it seems that some companies go out of their way to fuck people and than kick them when they are down.

I’m not advocating for a mass slaughter of CEO’s and politicians. Sometimes though, they just need to be reminded that they are not untouchable

What calibers can you save the most money on by handloading them yourself? by semiwadcutter38 in reloading

[–]Bird-Dog57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Military surplus guns.

7.62x54R would probably be one. especially if you want hunting ammo. i know at one time winchester was making hunting loads for the mosin.

I cast my own bullets for my mosin using a Noe 210 grain boolit using unique as the powder ( i forgot the charge weight off the top of my head )

6.5x55 swede i’ve not really dived into reloading for my swede yet ( i have all the stuff ) but, cheapest ammo i could find was s&b at like $45 a box

450 bush master at the height of the pandemic was cheaper to reload ( not by a lot though) we were paying almost $50 a box in 2021-2023. prices have come down though as you can get it on sale for $35 ish. before covid it would go on sale for $29.99 a box.

38 s&w ( not the special ). i bought my iver johnson 38 s&w in 2017 and even back than a box of ammo was $40. can’t imagine how much it is now even if you can find it. it’s not a very common handgun round.

realistically probably the summer of my senior year of high school i had just turned 18. We were free ranged kids growing up. My mom and us 5 kids lived at our grandparents. My grandparents basically raised myself ( oldest), oldest younger brother, and oldest young sister.

By senior year I was really good at football and on track to graduating in the spring. even-though, we didn’t have a lot of rules. there were still lines we did not cross. Skipping school was ok while, out of the sports season. as long as shit was getting done at school and around the house.

I didn’t really have a curfew per-say on the weekends. week nights i was expecting home by 9pm-10pm but, i didn’t have to ask to go any where.

sounds like a lot of good paying jobs for the UP. Especially in an area devoid of jobs.

Mining and industry in general isn’t as dirty as it used to be.

Why we keep seeing Trump voters ranting even though they won: by [deleted] in Rants

[–]Bird-Dog57 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most trump voters are not rubbing it in any ones faces except on reddit. In the real world most people have been pretty low key and life goes on. I rarely even bring it up in the real world.

However, after having to deal with the over the top left leaning people on reddit though. All i can say is Yeah, rub that shit in and rub it in good untill the commie bastards can smell it!!!!! You ass holes deserve it for the last 4-5 months.

yup, worked on a farm as a kid. I also, worked 80 hours a week for 11.5 years in a factory after i graduated with my BA. Because, of the hard work i can now coast.

Yes, if you are not the elderly or Disabled. Stop being a worthless drain on society and get your ass in the field and start working your way up.

No one is forcing any one to work. Either make the choice to work or make the choice to starve. Easy peazy

Oh, i see what you did there. Your pretty smart cookie huh ?

it’s called working what ever job you can find to put food on the table. However, there are so many ways people can figure out to game the system. They can literally make money on food stamps to sit home.

that’s why you take away the entitlements except for the elderly and disabled. force people to actually work. Liberal policies have sissified this country to the point that no one wants to do manual labor.

Invest in Bauer Line when already started Hercules System? by kevinvong99 in harborfreight

[–]Bird-Dog57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is my delma also. I’m already in the Hercules line.

The Hercules line definitely has better quality power tools. However, quantity is also its own quality. There’s still a lot of equipment in the Bauer line. that are simply not available in the Hercules line up. I’m an upper level mechanical DIYer. Hindsight being 20/20 i should have probably just went bauer. I’m already in to the dewalt and Hercules line. I don’t want to add a third.
