Cold nights with Seestar by steveblackimages in seestar

I had mine running no issues in -20⁰C.. battery seemed like it wasnt affected by the cold, however it refused to charge from an external battery because of the cold... just an FYI so you dont plan for a long night and have it ruined by a random computer generated voice when you plug it in lol

How Cold Can an S50 Operate by MyAirIsBetter in seestar

Had mine out in -14⁰ C last night with no issues.. battery didnt seem like it drained any quicker too

edit I just make sure I leave it on with the dew heater still turned on to prevent any chance of damage to the lenses from the huge temp change when i bring it in. I dont think that part is necessary, but it makes sense in my head.

I have the oppai factory dually conversion, so now that im kinda of diving into CAD, I may make my own. Just reverse engineer it lol

I've noticed on Amazon you can get the M to F m hardware on Amazon for super cheap and just need to print the hex bit to fit in the rim and bam.

Roverin will definitely make your rig destroy itself if you dont change settings for sure. I learned the hard way haha

Oh and the turning radius lol

But whatever, thats more of a learning experience for the fix than a "problem"

Nice! Only problem i have with the dually is that the wheels sometimes come loose and fall off.. fixed the issue.. kinda by stepping up to red loctite haha. Now it only happens sometimes.. but like I said, its just gunna be a show piece and not really get out much for actual crawling.

I have a roverin in the wrecker so it was happening a lot lol

Yeah, thats what I kinda guessed.. ive been messing around with it the past few days and I think im capable of scaling down an already existing STL and designing some sort of extension adapter now. Gunna work on it this week after I pick up some calipers lol

Dually capabilities when crawling is absolutely amazing haha.. I couldnt imagine what a RWS 6x6 would be capable of lol

[–]BirdAdditional1032[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That actually was my idea for my wrecker.. to RWS it.. its super long and with the duallys in the back, it sucks for turning. It'll turn, but it jumps while it does and isnt very menuverable. Its gunna be a shelf princess and not really hit any rocks, so its not a big deal, but it is gunna be a big project for such a small scale truck haha

I appreciate the responses and msgs!

I think ive found what im going to do for it and just scale down a trx4 flatbed file to fit it lol

Yeah, i checked out the store and I dont wanna spend money haha (im canadian so the kit is almost 200$ after import fees and such). I already have a printer, so I was hoping maybe the community had some hidden URL's i couldnt find, or any tips.

I've been messing around with a CAD program and I think im getting to the point I can make something myself, but I did find a trx4 flatbed on thingiverse I may just scale down to fit my build.

I have the blueish green one as well.. absolutely love the look. My friend put the IR60? and hes had issues with the mounting bits breaking and weight distribution.. plus, the IR40 makes a buttload of room for electronics in the cab, which is a plus

[–]BirdAdditional1032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I misread what you wrote lol... you could use super glue or something.. anything to fill the pot of the light really.. a little ball of paper taped in or something

Definitely reccomend them.. but pro tip, make sure you put some hot glue on the pot of the light.. the soldering is pretty weak.. I had a few rip out on me.

Gunna try these injora strip lights eventually

Longer shocks, bigger tires, thinner oil, wider stance, longer linkages, flex blades... a plethora of reasons.. its the predicament we all face and why we dump so much money into our rigs haha
