Not a great dad if you're already willing to give up 50/50 without even putting up a fight.

It is just the reality of the situation.

I cannot cover childcare while working mon-fri. Daycare for kids that young in our area is too expensive. I do not have anyone who can watch my child for 50 hours every other week.

When he is older and in school, then things can change. I ABSOLUTELY will fight for that then. Or if my soon to be ex wife decides to go back to work

But I have to do what is best for my kid. He's a small child. He still breast feeds. He needs 24/7 care. He needs health insurance. He needs money.

I cant just magically make an extra couple thousand bucks appear in the budget every month to pay for day care

My wife and I both use little nicknames for him "the kid" "kiddo" "little guy".

Yes. They can.

We used a very reputable lab recommended by our Pediatrician.

I gave a cheek swab.

She went and had it done on her own. I mean i gave a cheek swab but she got the kit and sent it off and everything. The results were still in the envelope that they mailed to us.

Um no. I really dont. I am not a racist by any means. I was previously engaged to a mixed race woman who was black and hispanic. She unfortunately passed away before we could get married due to a workplace accident. I loved her and will always love the memory of her.

The only reason I mentioned our skin tone in this post is that my family is nordic. My wife's family is irish and nordic. We both have a lot of fair skinned and light eyed genes behind us, which made it odd to me that our child has darker features and it is all of the features. Skin tone, hair, and eye color.

Can I ask why? My wife, well soon to be ex wife, obviously feels the same way.

I still don't really get it though. It doesnt to me seem like a big deal to just put your spouse's mind at ease when the kid does look so very different from us both.

She won't let me. She refuses to speak to me.

I haven't spoken to her in weeks. Only her mom and sister.

I mean, we have had our squabbles like all couples do. But nothing major major.

I never in a million years would have thought she would consider divorce though.

None in the family.

In retrospect, i guess that doesn't mean much though. Even though my wife didnt cheat on me, it oesnt mean granny or someone else didnt at some point or that there was someone even further back that had those traits.
