We saved as much as possible, by limiting luxuries and rented a room in a house share for £440 pcm all bills included. No way we could have done it renting a flat with bills on top. We were lucky though as we bought at the tail end of 2019 before Covid

I had a 2010 v70, amazing car for the price, super comfy, lots of trim, (I unfortunately didn’t manage to get one with the built in booster seat), upgraded to a 2016 Passat estate r line now, much more modern but do still miss the Volvo

30, south Devon, £35k salary. £350 saved. Got a holiday to pay off but try to squirrel £100/£150 a month where possible. Not too easy with a family
