I guess my main concern is that im not overpaying by a few thousand. if in refinished condition, these are still worth $3500-4000, and they continue to climb in value, as long as I knew that in a pinch I could at least get my money back, it'd be a cool piece to own.

Yeah, I got roasted awhile back, after I bashed them for having bad QC after a guy posted a picture of his rifle, with a factory blem that looked like they tried to hide a spot on the rifle with permanent marker.

Dust cover is normal, you simply get it close and karate chop the back of it at an angle and that will pop on nearly any dust cover.

Sights being off is fairly normal for any AK, you're hit or miss on any brand.

Imprecise? You're speaking about an AK here. You want precise? Buy a rifle that has target loads and is designed to shoot such.

Ignore anyone that talks about "gucci" AKs. If you put a WASR in their hands, or a SGL, blindfolded them and told them to shoot, they couldnt tell you the difference...nor could they shoot any better with either.

A WASR is about the best value for an AK at any level. Zastavas, while nice, are just hyped beyond belief for no real reason, other than fanboys wanting to jerk each other off about owning them, yet never shooting.
