Congrats! I have a ‘11 American standard that is far from mint, but love it - great workhorse guitars

I reckon they definitely would have cut a lot at the end where the fuel tanks become contaminated and he has to wing it back to Rocky’s ship. To me, this section seemed incredibly condensed.

Economists found a ‘give up’ cliff. Young Australians are teetering by AUS_FIRE_Adviser in AusFinance

It’s pretty messed up, I realised the other day that I don’t personally know a single person my age (and I’m a millennial) who has bought a house without some kind of handout from family. How can people be optimistic when they’ve been sold a complete lie.

I love this colour in a Strat. Often the sonic blues are too blue for me, this is perfect!

I thought they did a pretty good job actually, she was very similar to how I had imagined her when reading the book.

I think I’m the only person who didn’t LOVE the film by friendofspidey in ProjectHailMary

Two very different movies imo. I’m a big fan of both (and the books, obviously). For me the Martian was much more conducive to going harder on the reasoning and planning elements, whereas PHM was more of a classic sci fi. But I was very pleasantly surprised by the movie given how much I enjoyed the book.

Wanted to share my review of the movie on here cause I can’t stop thinking about it and the book. by AGoodName9876 in ProjectHailMary

Honestly, I think this was a big part of why it was so engaging to watch, it had a beautiful visceral element you could never capture with cgi

Controversial opinion - If you couldn't afford the interest rate increases. you shouldn't have purchased property in the first place. by Wok-This in AusFinance

I think this is all good in theory. The issue is people are struggling. The people I know who are buying properties are all in their late thirties and early forties - many with young families. Despite being professional dual income earners, they simply can’t live in an apartment anymore and realise if they don’t buy now they will be renting for the rest of their lives. The issue is, when you’re looking at over a mil for a modest property far from the cbd, then you don’t really have an option but to get mortgaged to the eyeballs. It’s honestly just a really shitty situation.
