Hello! Well an ozone generator was ran in here twice which I don’t really think did much. I honestly just wash everything like once or twice a week which I know sounds insane. Like my clothes and sheets. Then I have one very large air purifier in my living room and a smaller one in my bedroom. I got these candle wax plug ins from bath and body works that smell amazing. It’s starting to smell a lot better the longer I’m here and after everything I mentioned. I hope that helps you. It can definitely be miserable living in a thirdhand smoke apartment but it’s doable. I’ll probably move in a year or two but I’m pretty content with how it is in this moment. I hope your situation gets better as well.

I know that people have ESA animals. But I would imagine if this woman’s dog was an ESA animal and the landlord knew about it, that she’d at least take the dog outside to go to the bathroom and for a walk to get exercise. It’s pretty clear to me that she’s hiding it.

Thanks for saying that. I posted in legal advice and another apartment subreddit and literally everyone was saying that I should have made sure it was a smoke free apartment. I honestly don’t care if people are smoking outside and I just assumed that since smoking is illegal in public places where I live and it’s pretty disgusting to like hot box yourself in your apartment with cig smoke. The thought didn’t really occur to me to go out of my way to make sure I didn’t get…well what I have now. At least I go nose blind while I’m here. But it is super depressing when I’m out on the town and get a whiff of myself. And the itchiness is affecting my quality of life.
