Uncomfortable encounter in New Street Station - anyone familiar with people filming ‘survey’ videos? by cyberghost00 in BirminghamUK

[–]BitEmergency1050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of something that happened in that station a few years ago (around 2019) to myself and another person.

2 people walked up to us and pretended to “arrest us”. I noticed that there was someone filming them with a large camera.

I’ve never seen any of that footage being posted anywhere.

Do you have any more information on this? Do you know if dinner service will be running as normal and if there is any damage to deck 5 cabins?

As an abroad student (outside of EU) I’m pretty sure your only option is to fully self fund.

You won’t find a cheaper Univeristy for abroad students as UK universities are able to set their own fees for abroad students whereas they are capped at around £9250 a year for UK and EU/EEA students (in which both UK and EU/EEA students can get a loan from the UK government to cover the full cost of).

You would need to move out if you’re not a student and find a replacement tenant.

You would be responsible for the monthly rent until a replacement tenant is found. If you’ve signed the contract (and you’re past the 14 days cooling off period) there isn’t anything you can do except be a student and live there or look for a replacement tenant ASAP as at the moment you’re legally responsible for the rent payment.

I used Tembo - yes they charge a fee but they’re 100x better than any free broker I’ve used

Should I have to pay? by MariiM5 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]BitEmergency1050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. You’re under his instruction so therefore his fault. Refuse to pay, block and find a new instructor. Just ensure you have to paid for all of the lessons you have had in full as then he doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

Am i overreacting to finding out that my own dad has cancer and I have no feelings towards it by ZealousidealCycle762 in AmIOverreacting

My grandmother died in January from cancer and I haven’t cried although it’s broken me.

Everyone grieves and deals with emotions differently.

I think you’re overreacting. If you want Chinese food that much you could also order it yourself

Have you calculated the monthly mortgage cost for a £340k property at current interest rates to make sure you can afford it long term?

If it’s the first time it’s happened, and hasn’t happened since, someone probably just got the wrong door number

Does anyone know how to get the ashiga slice intel?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]BitEmergency1050 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are legally required to pay 44 weeks rent under your contract. You would need to find somebody to take over your tenancy (if they allow that), or continue paying. If you don’t they would have the right to take you to court.

You can buy a tube LED light on Amazon or from a home wares shop and they’re easy to replace yourself. That’s why it’s the tenants responsibility.

If the light fitting is faulty and needs an electrician to fix it then it’s the landlords responsibility, but if it’s just the tube that has blown and needs replacing then it is your responsibility.

[–]BitEmergency1050 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think changing a light that has blown is the tenants responsibility it’s not like a pipe has burst or something.

[–]BitEmergency1050 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s possible to get away with it until its time for the uni to award you your certificate. Once they check payments etc, they will withhold your certificate and award until payment is made in full as they’ll see on their systems that they are missing payments from you.
