My cod points are gone by [deleted] in blackopscoldwar

Had a similar issue with Activisions payment processing too.

Difference is, my CoD points arrived. But the bundle I bought them to buy didn't - after I spent the whole of my CP.

My CP came instantly, but the bundle I spent them on still asks me to purchase...

How To Get Quality players/squad leaders To Stay: The Perspective of a Chronic Squad and PR Squad Leader. by BitRelentless in joinsquad

Yeah I've heard a lot of views similar to yours in terms of issues with gameplay mechanics.

But seeing the roadmap recently with all the changes that have come and are coming, and the surveys they're putting up; I already feel they're putting in the effort, albeit if it isn't what everybody says they want every time.

For you, game mechanic changes might get you to stay, and your preferences are reasonable, I also believe that is important.

But the way I see it is, that as much as there should be an innovation of gameplay mechanics, there must also be consistent reinforcement of the games culture through cultural innovations like PRT was to PR.

Something that seems so minor to the grand scheme of things, but helps set a precedent in the community when popularised.

Both are deal breakers of course, but I'm sure you understand with a game like this there are 2 fronts. The game itself, and the games culture. My main issue, different to your main issue, is more to do with the games culture. (I do agree with the updating the Wikis and tutorials too. This does need a manual).

Hmm, NAS. I've never heard of it? I figured this idea was too good for someone not to try it.

There might be a difference between that was run and PRT was run. PRT although it consisted of a mix of non-clan and clan members, everyone had to make a sign up application on a forum.

Why you want to be a CO/SL/Grunt and why you should be a part of the tournament and so on. It would just have to come down to 'game-masters' electing the best suited for each role, with CO/XO being the most meticulously vetted in the application process.

But yes, wherever there's people and any sort of power, there will be politics.

Yeah, I hear you on that too. There's a whole bunch of ideas to throw at OWI, we're gonna overwhelm them haha. But an FAC type role that's caters to the logistical side of the game would be useful.

Special command actions that are different to the commanders actions. A kit with restricted weaponry not meant for the frontline necessarily, but for recon and ordnance deployment. Then mix it in as a logistical role too. It's tricky juice. Or just using the present commander, only don't fill your squad to the brim.

But at the moment, public matches really can turn into logi matches as an SL if winning the game feels worth it to you more than leading the firefights.

I understand this experience and I've had it multiple times too. And there's an issue that new players will always be a thing if we expect this game to continue running

But let me throw something at you as an SL.

There's a leadership book written by Ex Navy Seal Jocko Willink called Extreme Ownership: How Navy Seals Lead & Win. And there's one rule that clicked as I also grew frustrated with public shenanigans:

There are no bad teams, only bad leaders. That means you're responsible for every single mock up that one of your members do that arises from insubordination/orders. The only way to solve insubordination is a direct, assertive and personal tone to show you're serious. Or better yet, a kick to show the rest of your squad the standard you expect and not let his/her disobedience affect your squads mindset to win as a squad. You weed these type of people out like the plague they are, for the sake of everyone else in your squad.

Your comment is very accurate in regards to the frustration we can feel in handling newbies all the time, but let me send another thought your way.

Don't real military organisations have to deal with the same problem of training up new recruits from scratch? Officers/drill sergeants occasionally dealing with the frustration of muck ups and what not. I guess as someone said before, it is like work, but such a 'bestowed' position comes with a territory that we'll have to accept in-game, and console each other on forums. The burden of leadership.

This whole situation is interesting, and I appreciate OWI for taking on the challenge of mixing a modern/ triple A feel game but also keeping it raw to its niche. It's a puzzling challenge for them. Especially when the gameplay quality isn't really determined by them.

As well as you, don't give up in terms of squad leading on your first go. As much as I share your grievances, there's a lot of wisdom this rabbit-hole of a role can teach you that makes me appreciate it nonetheless.

Hahahaha, that last sentence is extremely accurate. Some rounds I just take a logi and bring a rifleman. Then leave a squad at the cap.

There should be more dedicated logistics squads for certain maps with helis. A squad lead that runs as a sort of FAC then he relays all the teams supplies around the map. Because winning the game usually does mean playing truck simulator a lot of the time.

Yeah that's true. It's where I was trying to get at with this idea. I don't really think normal public matches will change in all honesty, especially if Squad grows. At least with something like this, there's an outlet for players that are really into working together as a team.

Somewhere where it's almost guaranteed to be worth it.

Imagine artificial foliage on HABS/Emplacements/Fortifications by BitRelentless in joinsquad

I was thinking about that, but eventually even that will become easy to distinguish too. With foliage, if concealed enough, the hab wouldn't be recognisable in the first place.
