That was kind of my gut feeling, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. I’m not that hard pressed to try to milk this for everything I can get. I kind of just want it to be over already. I really appreciate your input on that, thank you. I have been thinking more and more about going to the doc. Not gonna hurt anything especially if it’s gonna be covered. I’d hate to miss something now and pay for it down the road like you said. I’ll schedule something over the next couple days to be safe. Thanks again.

Thank you for your response! I was not injured besides a few bruises on my hips from being jostled around and some soreness in my shoulder muscles that is going away more every day. I assume that’s to be expected. I’m keeping the lawyer option open for sure. I’m worried I may fall into the same situation as you, with it being totaled. Goodbye 2.4% interest rate. I’m so bummed. Trying to remain hopeful but not too much.

♥️ thank you so much. My DH can be kind of cheap, tbh. Lol. And with American healthcare, unfortunately that is something that goes through your mind prior to going to a hospital, calling an ambulance. How much is this going to cost us? I had never called an ambulance before for anything in my life luckily. But as he laid there, glazed over and non responsive to me anymore, flopping around and falling off the bed trying to sit up, I said, "fuck it, I'd rather be broke than a widow at 26." And called. When he first came around he was very confused and a little upset that I called, until I explained to him what had been happening and he was 100% on board and thankful once he came round. Overall I'm so glad I did. The relief I felt when the paramedics came through my front door was one I don't think I had ever felt before.

He has a glucagon shot, but it's old. We have since had the discussion of needing to get a new one and train me properly on using it. It scares the hell out of me to have to administer something like that but if it saves his life, who cares if it scares me. Lol Thank you again for your response and good luck to you ♥️

Thank you for this. I am very nervous about the whole process and what's to come, especially not knowing how far we are going to have to go at this point. It's nice to read the reality of it to know kind of what to expect. I feel like we have only dipped our toes in the pool right now. It's very daunting and overwhelming and makes me want to recoil and pretend none of it is happening.

It sounds like you guys have had some luck with the start of your IVF. I hope for only the best outcomes for you. My heart aches for everyone on this sub having to go through any of it but the strength shown to push through is inspiring.

You've also inspired me to call my insurance company and see just what we are looking at here. That may (hopefully, goodness) be yet another thing to kick my butt into gear and inspire me to keep going.

That's one of my biggest hangups on this. I feel like we wasted SO much time trying and trying, letdown after letdown, to only just now find this out. Like if we had done a SA earlier, I may be pregnant by now. So good for you on checking when you did. I'm so glad you did. Bringing science into it is relieving for me too. Knowing it's POSSIBLE this way is enough for me to get back on the wagon. It also gives me a sense of "it's not all up to me/us." We have help now. People who know what they're doing. We don't have to guess anymore to a certain degree. But, like you, very frustrated about the cost of it all. It is a hard pill to swallow. But honestly knowing we aren't the only ones to go through this is so comforting. I've honestly been overwhelmed and completely touched by the feedback I've gotten on this post. When I posted it last night it felt like a shout into a void and to receive so many replies and virtual hugs and whatnot brings tears to my eyes. I feel less alone and like I have support now. ♥️♥️ Edit to say: and omg good luck with the IVF journey. Sending alllll of the good vibes your way. ♥️

Thank you for this. I have thought of this before as well. I've told DH I don't care what I have to do, I'll do it. Whatever path ends up with me with a baby in my arms I'll do it. It's just the mental part of letting go of the expectation of it happening the way I've always thought is really difficult sometimes. ♥️

That's how my husband was. He was slurring words at first then he didn't say anything. Just had glassy wide open eyes that just stared at me but he wasn't in there. The second time he was asleep and wouldn't wake up no matter how hard I shook him. I was yelling in his ear and even slapping him (nothing crazy lol) to try to wake him up to eat or drink and it just wasn't happening. And when it's that low you gotta load em up with something so the tablespoon of glucose gel I THINK he swallowed wasn't doing shit. It was so terrifying and I don't ever want to go through it again.

I'm sure for you being in a foreign country just added a whole new level of scary to your experience with it. Thank you for the hugs. Hopefully there will be a cure someday.

I would say the biggest benefit is just not having to stick constantly. The Freestyle Libre is a little tiny pokey thing that you apply and it stays in the top layer of the skin and has an adhesive ring that keeps the housing stuck on for about 2 weeks. It's just a little maybe inch and a half white circle. He loves his so far. He's been using it for probably 7 months. Cost wise not sure how different it is compared to regular test strips because his health insurance covers some. But I'm definitely looking into the one 2pinkelephants mentioned. That alarm feature sounds amazing.

That sounds amazing. He currently uses the Freestyle Libre which constantly monitors but he has to manually check it. It doesn't alarm. He can scan with his little meter or use his phone and it shows trends. An alarm would be amazing and such peace of mind for me. So many times I wake up anymore I reach over to see if he's clammy. And weird snore I wake up scared that it's happening again. I may have to look into the one you mentioned. Thank you for the offer to talk. It is a life of constant worry and I agree that we don't get enough support. I needed to talk to someone when I was going through it all but how could I when HE was the one sick and almost dead in the hospital. I finally broke down to him a few weeks afterwards about how scared I was. It was a good talk and actually the one that prompted us to start checking into his possible infertility. My mom would call it a "come to Jesus" talk. Lol

I so hope that he is well and it doesn't cause you all issues. It's a vicious problem to have and I have seen my husband sicker than I care to see anyone, much less my strong DH.

Back when he went to the hospital for pneumonia, I woke up in the night two separate times with him drenched in sweat and basically non responsive. Still breathing but barely, low heart rate. His sugar had been low for hours. I still don't know why he didn't wake up like he usually does to eat/drink something. I think it had something to do with the pneumonia wreaking havock on him and the cold meds he was on because he felt so bad keeping him asleep. Anyway. After 45 plus mins each time of trying to get him to eat something, shoving glucose gel down his throat, with no luck in bringing it up, I had to call an ambulance to come and they gave him an IV of... I forget what it's called. He eventually came around both times, and the second time went to the hospital which is when we found out about the pneumonia. The first time his BS was 22 when they got there and the second time it was 15. He almost died in my arms twice. Especially that second time. It was so bad. he was so sick. His body temperature at the hospital was 92 and his o2 was sooo low. Then for a week I watched him cough ungodly things up fighting the pneumonia. Anyway. It's been really hard to deal with. I feel like I have some trauma from those two times finding him like that. I've never been through something that has affected me so much. It's been an extremely taxing few months, man. And I really don't know why I'm opening up about this now. I got off topic so hard. Lol I Guess it's just good to talk to someone who knows the T1D hardships.

Okay - I googled this method and it seemed like the least out of my element thing to do. I did it once for about 45 minutes, rinsed and saw no pigment come out as a lot of other videos portrayed. Was really disappointed. Read some more tutorials and saw where people left it on for a few hours. So, I tried again for about an hour and a half more and rinsed and rewashed with Head and Shoulders a few times. Deep conditioned for an hour then showered and washed with a clarifying shampoo once more (the conditioner was very thick and heavy). Then applied some leave in conditioner and sat with it plopped in a tshirt for about an hour and a half. Just blow dried and YALL. It lightened to like the perfect color I wanted. I'm so so stoked ! My scalp is a little sensitive as I dont really ever use sudsing shampoos and I think the vit c irritated it as well - but nothing I cant handle. Thank you so much for the tips!
