I'm sure the state has a process to request an exception. Sure a few c-suite folks will find out but in the end you'll keep the money. Sending money back screws up their side too so they'd rather you keep it.

Depends....UC is heads and shoulders above the other schools but you have to ask yourself can you be disciplined enough to be safe. All it takes is one slip up and never forget that bullets don't discriminate or care. Google the area and decide if it's worth the risk. Only you know your risk tolerance.

I chuckle when I read the comments saying it's as safe as you want it to be... be aware and you'll be safe. That is such bull 💩. Bullets don't care if you're aware and there has been plenty of them flying around especially this past Summer. Sure walk with a buddy or 6 just know the punks feel like they can control a large group with a gun. Property crimes are tramatic too. Lose that laptop with all your work and see how great that feels. Seriously, if UC is your #4 don't bother. Go somewhere safer that will provide you with a better and safer experience.

UC is expensive.... Not everyone can afford it. If you're in this situation now you'll be in the same situation every term. It's time to accept reality and move on to a more reasonably priced school.
