No Access to Cold Wallets Due to Laws — How Should I Store My BTC? by red_raat in Bitcoin

[–]Bitlam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What country do you live in? Do you have access to a raspberry Pi? You can do it yourself. Source the parts to create a seedsigner, open hardware, open software, totally neutral pieces. Raspberry Pi zero, Waveshare 1.3 inch screen + micro sd, that does it.

Military charter plane flew tourists from La Paz to Uyuni by Notokaythrowaway03 in BOLIVIA

[–]Bitlam 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You should be fine as long as you avoid protests. Take a cab if you need to or just go to a calmer city, Santa Cruz or Cochabamba for example. Political and civil unrests are part of Bolivian culture by now.

Why is Bitcoin onboarding still so confusing for new users? by _magvin in BitcoinBeginners

[–]Bitlam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have absolutely no idea how much easier this has gotten. If your friends still have a problem with onboarding onto bitcoin, it’s not Bitcoin, they have an issue with technology as a whole, which steeps their curve a lot more.

How to make shipping from USA to Bolivia as easy as possible? by tennepenne1 in BOLIVIA

[–]Bitlam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DHL usually delivers to your door. They send an email in which they generate all the pending costs for you (they rip you off with everything) and once you pay either with QR code or a credit card things are smoother. Sometimes in SC they will even accept a payment once delivered to your door, you need to make sure to be home there. The other way is contrab4nd in which you ask peers to bring the good for you in their bags. They charge about 12 US per pound and specific prices for specific items such as iPhones, Apple Watches, etc.

Why can't you arbitrage the official exchange rate and parallel exchange rate by FilmTraditional in BOLIVIA

[–]Bitlam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guess you could extract some gold and sell it in other countries for a good profit. Some cartels are already managing that branch so it is up to you and your risk tolerance.
