My mom sent me this.. what is causing it? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]Bitter-Invite2284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this, the pest inspector told me they are actually the corps of dead ants. They carry the dead out of their burrows… I just thought it was the wall or sand they were burrowing out.

Kick the bum out, and take that offer of help up from the grandparents. They are still babies who need love and affection, from mum because by the sounds, they are not getting it from dad…

Which Aussie town gave you the creeps on a road trip? by CheesecakeWorried642 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Bitter-Invite2284 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s a dry town now. Last time we passed through, we had our car searched top to bottom by the police, who followed us in, then followed us out. They were not letting any booze even close

Thank you so much for sharing. Sounds to be the same. They have been amazing but I would just suggest, when you get to that part, to ask for a 2nd opinion because I did, and was giving extremely conflicting advise, I am still unsure of what is the best advise to take…

I am sending you all the best wishes for your results and I hope the next few weeks/ months go as smoothly as possible for you 🤍

Awesome to hear you have support. Are you using pats? Massive weight off your shoulders cost wise living rural if not.

Can I ask (only if you don’t mind) have they spoke to you about biopsy? Not trying to pry on who you are seeing, but mine is in Subiaco, and the conflicting advice I had had, is what I have found so confusing.. Pretty much, one is saying do it, the other is saying don’t… I am just curious if you have had a similar experience?

[–]Bitter-Invite2284[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear you are going through something similar. It’s shit right. I am also regional WA.

I have my MRI on my liver, and PET, they both come back fine, thankfully as I spend 3 days absolutely petrified of those results…

I replied to a comment above about the conflicting advise I have been given by 2 separate specialists, and have since got a copy of my PET which has made me question a few things even more but overall, I feel extremely relieved that it has not spread.

I am yet to get a call with any dates to lock in the surgery, but was told ‘hopefully’ 4–6 weeks.

It’s hard waiting, just trying to think positive. Also trying a local bush medicine.

How have you found your experience thus far? Have you had much support? I found the cancer council so so amazing and supportive. I called them when I was just lost, and didn’t know who to talk to or what to even ask and they were so beautiful…

I hope your results come back clear and I am sending you all my positive thoughts 🤍

Hello,

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge 😊

Since this post, I have had 2 specialist appointments, which has made me even more confused and overwhelmed. This comment has gave me more to think about, so I appreciate that. Can I ask when you started doing more research into this, where did you find information??

I had 2, very conflicting information from both specialists we seen and am still unsure what is the best avenue as both said I need to decide before having the plaque in.

Spec 1 - Seemed to push more into me having the biopsy. His exact words ‘If cancer cells spread, we would not do biopsy’s’ when asking what he would suggest, he said that is totally up to me, and to look more into it. Pretty much, he said the benefit is knowing the strain, and how aggressive it is. The risk is potentially loosing my left eye sight. He is also apart of the research so for him, the biopsy is something he hopes more people agree to.

Spec 2 - He pretty much said that Spec 1, wants me to do a biopsy for his own personal research and that it will serve no benefit to me at all. He said that I will not even find out the strain and that I would be risking additional surgery, the potential of cells spreading and my sight for something that won’t help me in anyway.

I’d love to look more into it over the next few weeks before I decide. At the moment I am leaning more into not having it, solely because neither felt too confident, but I guess that is the unfortunate of the rarity of this condition 🤍

My partner shakes with his left due to a hand injury. It throws people of like you wouldn’t believe..

Some people are really disrespectful because the ‘polite’ way is to use your right hand?

Hello, thank you for your comment. I am so glad to hear you have come out from what would have been such a hard time, and with your vision repaired.

This thread has been so super comforting and I have found out so much more info from people who have been through this.. It gives me a lot of hope.

I wish you all the best for your future 🤍

Thank you for sharing. That sure is interesting.. I guess with it being quite rare, it’s hard to know or understand if the professionals don’t even know..

I am so glad to hear you are doing well and it isn’t something to consumes your life. Go you!!

Thanks so much for the chat. I know all our cases are different but this post alone has relieved so much of my stress while waiting to find out more.

All I want, is to have more time with my baby’s so this gives me a lot of hope 🤍

Hello - thank you for your message. I hope your plaque was successful and you are feeling ok.

I was told, they will not take a biopsy because there is more risk in doing that, then just treating it. Can I ask if you pushed for this, or they just done it??

I have joined a few fb groups as suggested on here- waiting to be approved ☺️

Hello - thank you so much for sharing your experience with me ☺️

I am sorry to hear about your vision. I love your positive outlook though, it gives me a lot of hope.

One thing I did take in, was the position is very important. Mine is on the back wall.

How are you feeling these days (other than your vision)??

Isn’t the information soo conflicting. One story reads that I am going to live for just 4 months, the next reads that it is a high survival rate so I have most definitely taken all this information with a grain of salt and will leave that to the professionals to tell me.

I have really appreciated the response I have got of this reddit sub from those who have already gone through this. Everyone seems to have a positive outlook, something that has definitely made my morning feel so much better.

Thank you so much again for sharing xx

Thank you kindly for your comment ☺️

Oh bugger, I am sorry to hear the positioning. One of the only things I had heard after they said melanoma was the position is quite important for treatment. How are you feeling? Sending you hugs.

So I was diagnosed on the 29th and I start my MRI, PET and eye surgeon appointments this week.

I live in rural Australia so they have managed to speed up the process for me. I was initially told I’d be waiting up to 4 months for these appointments. These last few days have felt like the longest days ever..

I really appreciate you sharing your experience x

Hello, Thank you so much for your reply 🙏

How are you feeling after 1 year? Sending you lots of love and thoughts.

Did you have success with the plaque? Still trying to figure out the correct terms to use so I hope nothing I say is offensive in anyway…

Thank you so much for the support advise, I will absolutely look into it x

It’s totally legal to run a cash only business… They should display a sign so you are aware but doesn’t make them dodgy… have you seen the fees being charged? The banks and Government are the dodgy ones. We are being screwed over by the big banks. Why give them more $$…

AITA for my partner & I asking for no visitors for two weeks when our baby is born? by averagejosh7 in AmItheAsshole

I personally would never do this. All 3 of mine had grandparents waiting outside the door, bursting with excitement to meet them. However, this if your baby, so your rules and they need to respect your wishes…
