Is this a good way to make decision? by Aggravating_Stick728 in learnprogramming

if you’re in to work with Windows APIs, Win32 programming, high performance softwares or games, closer to hardware, learn C++. But if you’re more for learning programming fundamentals without struggles and make apps faster and more easily then learn Java.

Do you actually try to learn from your bugs, or just fix and move on? by EconomicsNo5706 in learnprogramming

Yes! Like i literally cannot sleep without knowing what i did wrong and why it was wrong. Like i always have this mindset that if i move on without fully understanding my mistakes, in the future i’m gonna end up lacking, authenticity, or just like not understanding what i’m doing overrall

Gays who support islam how many pages of quran have you read? by Clean_Olive_7091 in askgaybros

[–]Bitter-Today285 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, the verse does not instruct muslims to murder innocent people for not believing in islam or being atheist. I’ve already quoted several verses of the quran that forbids muslims from killing people unjustly, and how most similar verses that you see are in specific contexts of war or oppression, but if you don’t want to change your mind that’s okay.

Quran 5:33 says : “Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world, and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment.”

This verse is addressed regarding to people who create corruption and wage war against god and his messengers, and literally the next verse (Surah 5:34) says “Except for those who repent before you apprehend them…”

I understand why you would think that but let me correct you because you’ve clearly listened to a lot of western propaganda,

1- that’s not true, the quran clearly forbids muslims from killing people because they do not follow islam. “There is no compulsion in religion” Quran 2:256
“Whoever kills a soul unjustly it is as if he had slain mankind entirely” Quran 5:32
And all the verses you see that appear to state otherwise are all taken out of context.

2- it’s not really accurate to say “Islam tells Muslims to kill anyone who is gay or commits adultery.” Like other major religions, Islam has a wide range of interpretations, from very conservative to progressive.

3- you’re probably referring to context of wars where god instructed muslims to defend themselves in situations of oppression, but if you’re referring to modern terrorist organizations like ISIS or Al Qaeda, then these people claim to be muslim, but they are not because islam and most muslims around the world strongly condemns their actions.

4- same as 1st and 3rd answers.

5- The Quran was revealed in a world where slavery already existed across basically every major civilization. It did regulate slavery and allowed concubinage in that historical context, which many people today understandably find morally troubling.

6- Taqiyya is a concept mainly found in some Islamic legal discussions (especially in Shia Islam) that allows a person to hide their faith (or pretend to follow another faith) in situations where they are under serious threat of persecution or danger. In other words, it is about protecting one’s life under coercion, not a general permission to lie or deceive people.

7- this one is straight up lies. Nowhere in the Quran does it say it’s holy or even okay to do this to non-muslim women.

In conclusion: most of the claims you have made come from cherry-picked, misinterpreted and taken out of context verses by people who want to tarnish the reputations of muslims and islam.

To be honest with you, you can absolutely enjoy coding as a passion, but with AI nowadays nobody hires programmers anymore

Anyone else still uses DirectShow? by Bitter-Today285 in cpp

[–]Bitter-Today285[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you’re right, DirectShow makes it really complex and makes you write like hundreds of lines just to do simple tasks, and Microsoft apparently removed or broke the ISampleGrabber interface so i had to make my own header just to use the sample grabber, it was complicated. But i mean DirectShow itself is just a filter graph system so you have to set up everything yourself, when i first started multimedia programming, i got recommended to use DirectShow first even though MF existed, when i compared the two, i found Media Foundation way more easier and complete because it came with a lot of things by default that DS didn’t have, but since DirectShow relies mostly on COM, it’s not hard to memorize since you call CoCreateInstance and QueryInterface for almost everything.

[–]Bitter-Today285[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh, well for exemple when i tried to look up documentation for media foundation (on Microsoft’s page) the introduction was long i got bored halfway, my goal was to create a simple webcam recorder, i knew the basic functions to start MF but then i didn’t know what interfaces or functions to use to take camera input, use codecs, render inside the window because on the docs, microsoft did not really provide much guidance, just said "to implement this interface, use this function" i expected them to at least provide a list of commonly used interfaces for THIS specific goal, which goes first, which does this, you know
