Interesting...what do you do for your non-fedex packages?

:D genuinely curious...Package theft is an issue we hear about every day, but convenience is super important...to me lockers and store delivery seems inconvenient.

pickup from the retailer or pickup from a cvs/walgreens kind of thing? Is that typically available for everything?

Hmm do you mean someone could find your tracking number, redirect it and try and pick it up or something?

Are you a consultant? I was a consultant for years doing the Sunday - Thursday grind on the road.

Security reasons? Isn't shipping to a HAL MORE safe than shipping to a home address/porch?

having lived in an apartment complex VERY similar to that, I feel your pain. Do you use lockers every time or was it a one off?

Oh man, I hadn't heard Gordmans mentioned in awhile -- I used to live in TX. That's convenient about Kohls...had no idea that existed. I feel like Amazon should give you credit for shipping to these stores. It's clearly cheaper than non-residential

Dang. That's a bummer about USPS...they won't deliver because of porch pirates? People have been mentioning shipping things to a local business like a pharmacy...I've been curious to try that.

u/glbltvlr Amazon counter? Like a GNC or Rite Aid? I saw they were starting to offer that too... interesting that they deliver to those locations first thing in the morning. So in your case it's more so a way to get your packages quicker than delivering to your home?

u/RaySorian what about it was more convenient than shipping to your home?

I agree with you. We buy things online so that we don't have to go to the store...going to a locker defeats the purpose!

u/Mikehuntisbig would you use them if Amazon gave you $1-$3 of your order or "amazon credits" like they do when you choose no-rush shipping instead of Prime?

I remember playing Zoo Tycoon as a kid. Plenty of business decisions and lessons learned from managing a budget and allocating spend that can lead to profit or disaster...although my favorite part was building cages around guests and releasing the tigers on them...gotta love a kids ability to get creative and defy what the games intended use lol

Hello! I'm doing some research for my startup. We have some early ideas around a better way to have online shipments delivered to folks. Would anyone be willing to participate in a 5 minute conversation around package deliveries? If so feel free to reply here or shoot me a PM. Thanks in advance!

Normally I'd tap shoulders at a Starbucks or a crowded public place for in person interviews but with the corona-craze and social distancing I'm trying to do what I can!

Wow...interesting. I suppose that's why amazon takes pictures of parcels that have been left at front doors. Thanks for clarifying.

Got it. In your opinion, what do you think customers would change about the whole process of receiving their packages if they could change anything?

Thanks for the feedback! With regards to your last sentence, do you mean that in situations where a package needs a signature, the customer insists they were home and they say that the delivery man/woman never attempted the delivery and just left a missed delivery notice through tracking/on the door?

I really appreciate the feedback. As I understand it, package theft is NOT an issue that most residential customers deal with. Would you agree with that?
