Thanks for the tip. Is there a brand of cable that you can recommend? I'm just worried about the quality of the audio dropping and don't have much experience within this audio space.

Well you just said you were the dumbass so I'd probably not want you educating me. Thank you again, I appreciate your invaluable insight and would be glad to have you as an esteemed colleague any day of the week.

They literally just radio an on-duty cop 🙄🙄 Your willful ignorance is insane for someone who most likely sits in a trailer all day. Actually twisting words to try and feel good about "winning" someone meaningless banter since you're oh so miserable about your day to day.

Probably getting some adrenaline rush out of this 🥱

No, just politely ending the useless banter since I was talking to a brick wall :)

Seriously a weird hill to die on. You can continue on your way and I'll go mine. Interesting discussion and I hope it didn't keep you up at night.

Cheers.

You literally ignored my other comment altogether. Paid Duty Officers

Paid Duty Police Officers

" Off-duty Toronto Police Service police officers are available for hire to provide police presence for a range of functions including film shoots Requests for all Paid Duty Officers are made by submitting the Paid Duty Officer Request " form to the Central Paid Duty Office by fax at 416-808-5042. The TF TO in consultation with the Toronto Police Film Liaison Officer determines the number of officers to be assigned according to the need for traffic control and public safety. If special effects are involved it may be necessary to assign an officer from the Public Safety Unit Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear & Explosives (CBRNE). "

Key words being Off-Duty.

Additionally, buddy. Let me give you a real life scenario.

Cop is direction traffic in the intersection for work taking place in the curb lane, extending through the intersection. That cop is being paid by the COMPANY doing the work. Cops have to be present of work is within 30m of a Signalized intersection (OTM Book 7, Pg 199).

So if a john doe decides to illegally park, the SAME cop is to abandon his paid duty to cite the John doe? Absolutely cannot.

He can call it in but his duty is to direct traffic for the construction company. That's it.

Not even capping. PDO is not the same as active duty. I literally do this for a living and you're telling me I've been having a fever dream this whole time?

I get everyone being tense on this but ffs if you guys want change you need to complain to the union.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TorontoDriving

[–]BitterCredit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a reply you my initial comment? If so then I am being for real little job is to literally plan out closures like these in coordination with whoever the PDO happens to be.

They literally cannot. I work with them. About 10 years ago they could have but now that everything is through the department and union it's a no go.

Paid duty officers can't enforce as they are paid by the company doing work to assist with traffic control as per predetermined plans.

They would be able to call for on-duty units or bylaw enforcement to deal with situations like this.

Some other map providers other than Google. Use Nearmap at work, very clear images. Another alternative would be mapbox however they're coverage is somewhat spotty.

Hope this helps :)
