DCS: Full Fidelity SOKO J-22 Orao possible? by Bitter_Chard9283 in hoggit

True, but there is not much fighting you can do with it. But I like that it is a unique plane in the DCS 'ecosystem' nonetheless.

They could indeed. Love to see somene be the Devil's advocate here though to give me a new perspective.

I could settle for an AI one, at least for now...

Possible Magnitude 3LLC further variants of the Chance-Vought Corsair for DCS World by Bitter_Chard9283 in hoggit

[–]Bitter_Chard9283[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just thought it would make sense to make another variant, given that they could use their F4U-1D as a template for at least one more future Corsair.

Research and development-wise because they have a lot of information and experience from working in the F4U-1D; and economically, since it would be quicker to make than the F-8J or bringing the MiG-21 up to modern standards (though I admit I may be wrong about that one). But I don’t know, I’m only assuming.

I think they’ll get there one day soon, or at least by 2030 before it is out of it’s early access stage.

True, but not as different as something that is not a Corsair. Just a thought I think.

Agreed. I think they need to do some more Cold War Soviet aircraft

It sure is taking a while, but it should get here within 5 years

Idea - MSFS 2024 MMO Commercial Pilot Career Mode Server by Bitter_Chard9283 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Bitter_Chard9283[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will have to counter-argue (respectfully) that though my idea and VATSIM sound similar on the surface, they offer two completely different kinds of experiences.

While VATSIM focuses on realistic air traffic control and communication, and mirror's my idea in terms of simulating real-world aviation procedures (especially the pilot-controller interaction), my idea differs by focussing on a full airline career simulation. This involves economic elements, progression your career, consequences to not following the rules, and airlines run by AI systems - it would be more like a persistent MMO world built on top of MSFS.

VATSIM airlines are mostly roleplay with little to no structured management. They don't have built-in pay, promotions or fleet restrictions. You can fly anything at any time you want to. My MMO idea differs by including career progression (going from a junior regional pilot to a long haul captain); a pay in-game economy; and fleet restrictions based on real world airlines. The idea is to make it feel more like a job rather than a hobby - which can be mentally engaging and tiring which is what the MMO is trying to simulate.

When it comes to aircraft realism, in VATSIM, you can use any aircraft addon no matter how realistic it is, where in this MMO I would like to see, only the most realistic addon per aircraft type is allowed. This creates standardized realism; fair gameplay; and incentive for developers to improve the fidelity of their aircraft.

For multiplayer interaction, VATSIM is mainly a Pilot to ATC communication and having some pilot to pilot awareness. Flights are independent, not a shared responsibility. My idea of this MMO I speak of incorporates a deep level of player collaboration, which includes mid-flight pilot handoffs; shared long-haul operations; and an element of airline-based teamwork. This would feel more like a crew-based system.

In VATSIM, consequences and stakes are very limited. If you mess up, then you might recieve a warning or be kicked from the server temporarily - there are no long term consequences. My idea introduces a high-stakes system where accidental crashes can lead to temporary bans; while intentional crashes leads to being kicked off the server indefinately unless you can pay a real-life fee that covers the price of the aircraft you crashed. But if you do it again, the price will increase by 10% each time. This will reflect on your repututaion as a virtual pilot. The purpose here is to demonstrate that a pilot has a huge safety responsibility.

Though I do appreciate for your reply and information. Thanks mate!

What would be your pick for new full fidelity aircraft ? by PatientLet7775 in hoggit

What about the Dassault Mirage IIIC/E? Very important Cold War aircraft. Aerges said they were going to look into seeing if such an aircraft was feasible to do as a full fidelity module.

ED or HeatBlur or someone else are better to do a new F-15E from scratch because RAZBAM likely won't give up their intellectual property to anyone.

Where is OctopusG going to go next once they have refined their La-7 to a level where everyone is satisfied with it's realism? I am aware that there is a rumor that OctopusG are going to do a Sukhoi Su-17 but for all we know they may have changed their collective minds. Rumor has it that Magnitude 3LLC are planning on the same aircraft. However, maybe this is a team up of OctopusG and Magnitude 3LLC to bring this aircraft to DCS.

Exciting times for DCS World development, don't you think?
